Strategy is HoI or Civ, tactics is Red Alert

Tactics is knowing when to press the A button
Strategy is knowing when to release the A button

Tactics = optimizing the framing to get the item

Strategy is big picture, tactics is how you get there

If you think ahead, you'll never have to say "so, you might be wondering how I got here"

What's the half A press?
>>
>>735129748
Strategy is moving your army on a side of a river so it blocks the path of enemy army while keeping your supply lines safe.
Tactics is your hoplites throwing javelins at the enemy when their feet touch the riverbank, then pushing them back to the river when they reach your side of the river.

Macro without micro is the slowest route to Grandmasters. Micro without macro is a dancing zergling before defeat.

When you also consider logistics in the package, they pretty much are

Tactics is setting up spear walls against a cavalry unit because spear walls defeat cavalry.
Strategy is not setting up spear walls because it is going to rain.

Strategy is the overall roadmap of a military campaign, decided in the planning room by commanders. Tactics is the nuts and bolts of getting there, executed on the battlefield by generals and soldiers.

>write down obvious shit as if it's some new discovery
>weebs fellate your book for centuries calling it a masterpiece
why are chinks so unoriginal?
>>
>>735134945
A lot of great generals lost because they overlooked the obvious things, thinking they were above the basic details.

Another thing is that most translation of the book kinda suck. People translate the basic idea but don't translate the flowery language which made a lot of quotes lost their context.

>City holds for long enough time
>Invasion fails
>Enemy is greatly weakened.
I mean all things considered that's a pretty cool victory.

Its like fighting a losing battle but dealing enough damage to win the war.

>strategy
Where you attack, your long term plans about objectives you want to achieve
>tactics
how you attack, the moment to moment decision making to help you progress towards making your strategy successful

In pokemon strategy means /EV spreads, how to build your team with a good composition and moveset to get rid of threats etc. Tactics is the mind game/positioning part when you are actively in the fight and how you choose to respond to what your enemy is doing

In advance wars by web strategy is deciding what CO to pick and what areas of the map you want to prioritize to gain control of the contested properties, how to defend said zone or overwhelm your opponent. Tactics is when you spend 3 hours in the move planner to build a wall on turn 15

I actually like reading books made by ancient philosophers
>>
>>735141340
I recommend Herodotus and Thucydides if you haven't read them yet.
The originals are great, and understand them in context is great, but be mindful of the modern kike historians who hate everything perceived as white and western.
