I wish my choices had more influence over the world. In the end, nothing really matters and everything seems pre-decided. The illusion of choice during the first playthrough is immersive and all with all weird side quests, interconnected world and covenants but still the ending stays the same. NPCs have like two possible fates, die or go hollow later. The only thing the game truly needed was some way to show the player that their choices are respected, that the world not only recognize what they do, but also holds them accountable for it.
I TRIED SO HARD
>>735148352This is why I play good games
>>735148352The game respects you to be able to understand that the human nature is a moth to the flame when it comes to desires, and it is possible for you to add or remove barriers of someone else's. The only shame is that due to the lonesome nature of the game, everyone pretty much died or hollowed alone. The most fortune one can have is to catch their last words.
I don't even remember the ending choices
>>735150465Lights ON/OFF
>>735150934Unironically that's it. Start big fire and force the world to go on, leave and nothing ever happens.
The thing that annoys me about this game is when you turn off the sun in anorlondo it doesn't turn of the sun in the whole map, just in anor londo, that's lame.
>>735148352>The illusion of choice during the first playthroughThere's no such thing, Dark Souls never masqueraded as a choice-heavy game. If you mean choice as in choosing your build and route, that's not an illusion.
>>735154481Anor londo is a different plane of existence and had it's own sun
What choices? The game never pretends you have a choice in the trajectory of NPCs.
>>735157801>Anor londo is a different plane of existence and had it's own sun>the source?>uh..>It came to me in a dreamThere's literally nothing anywhere that even hints at that, 99% sure you took that from a sloptuber making shit up to put sense in lame level design.
>>735148352Play the way of the samurai games then. Those games are the real deal when it comes to the whole muh choices need consequences meme /v/ goes on about
>>735157801>>735158913I was about to say, the answer on why is that it's probably because it's too much work and game was rushed out the door with a lot of corners cut just like demon's souls.
theres always posts like this but you never get anyone giving example of a game with actual meaningful choicesat most you get some cringe jrpg that converges into the same shit or technically has different fates for the characters in the form of dialogues and text that dont actually matteranyway pic rel is a game with actually meaningful differences based on what you do, with some completely different routes for some sidequests
>>735148680fuckin kek m8
>>735150465Set yourself on fire (this is heroic apparently)or become the ultimate king of evil (not so heroic)
>>735148352lol imagineI'm real glad you "choices" guys are ignored.
