First game has a realistic grounded approach. Stuff unfold slowly and the powers are somewhat minor and incremental. Jesse doesnt start out a super hero flying through the air invincible. Its just you and the gun. The control scheme and gunplay as tight as GTA IV and controlling Niko. It's a downright cool game.

In comes RESONANT. Out with the grounded careful approach, no the boring baldie protagnist now wields a 10 meter long hammer like a Mario brother and he's slamming and teleporting through the world that looks like it was shat on with a confetti sparkly diarrhea magical blast.

No, I wont be purchasing this generic fantasy doodoo!

Saga's mind palace sections fucked up the pacing pretty hard.
For the most part you never get combat pods beyond 2 - 4 enemies.
The enemy and encounter design never evolves beyond the first area making it feel pretty stale by the end.

On the story side Saga is pretty flat. Her big carrot of her family never feels like a real threat, nor do they get established enough to give the player that connection. Casey would have worked better for the narritive, and would have had a much better sword of Damocles above his head.

The few videos of this do not convince me one bit.

Visually it does have sublime visual.
But the gameplay can still be shit
Boring traversal mechanic,
For enemy a few extremely repetitive swarm of no effort zombies
Disappointing bosses,
A pointless & grindy weapon upgrade system,
Clunky psychic effect,
Procedurally generated environment that lack diversity past the first surprise.

I only expected a SCP-game from the first game. This game don't even look like to be going that way.

first off, I never got the impression there was any threat / sword hanging above her head in anyway in relation to her family, this feels like something you just made up in your mind to get mad at like the smooth brain you are. Second, the entire fucking point is that it was Casey that saved him in earlier drafts but he then replaced him with Saga (look at the pages where Casey's name is crossed out and he has handwritten in Saga's). Her feeling like a last minute addition is the entire point because she is. Goddamn its crazy how you missed something so obvious just because they didnt spell it out for you. You are the reason there is yellow paint in video games lmao
