Am I a casual if I find this game hard?I tried the original version years ago and it filtered me, and now the same is happening with the remake I fear.
I only played the remake, but yeah it's not easy, th)e issue being some enemies respawning can really fuck you over, it's much easier after a while.
>>735165416The solution is to put the difficulty even higher. Consider the game a challenge that will take you a long time to finally finish.
It is hard. At least in the sense that it requires a level of critical thinking most newer games won't ask of you as well as some aggressive inventory management. But I wouldn't call it hard in terms of actual moment to moment execution, control the encounters and you're fine
>>735165416What's filtering you exactly?CombatHackingNevigation?
Judging by this thread, it looks like SS1's gonna be more of a time sink to beat than 2. I will report on this game once I've completed it. Till then, /v/
>>735165416It's an old video game where running into enemies is different. You have to make an effort to get a drop on any enemy you come across.
>>735165416I tried it and dropped it at the first cyberspace segment. That shit was ASS to control. Might try it again at some point with updated expectations.
Lean a lot, don't be afraid to use grenades especially once you have the conversion chamber for that level sorted and you can hold the fire button for stuff like the fletchette/scorpion to keep firing.
>>735165416>Am I a casual if I find this game hard?Yes. The original is way harder.
The executive floor boss is somewhat hard if you try to fight it fairly and not spam consumables+rapierRest of the game is pretty easy and death isnt punishing
>>735167990My blind play through ran about 16 hours so it's really not that bad. I can save you some time but giving you a really big hint but it's more fun when you discover it yourself.
>Nice jump, human.
this was the last 10/10 i played
>>735165416Yes
>>735171283>more fun when you discover it yourselfRighto that sounds pretty cool. I remember seeing an overview of the entire map years ago and thinking it looked like some honeycomb labyrinth, so I'm pretty excited
>>735165416Depends on why you find it difficult and what difficulty you're playing on for a first playthrough.
it's really just not fun. i wouldn't say its hard rather tedious. old games like this is an acquired taste for sure. they definitely feel good when you beat them tho
>>735165416There is essentially no way to lose this game. There's an infinite amount of health available, an infinite amount of ammo, and a limited amount of enemies. There's no concept of "hard" unless you're playing on the timed mode.Death is not game over, it warps you back to the restoration bay and restores some HP. The enemies you killed stay dead. Energy weapons have infinite ammo if you keep going back to the recharger. You might think its cheesy, but this is deliberately how the game was designed. The only exceptions are a couple boss fights and you should have more than enough consumables to power through them.
>>735165416yes
yeah you actually have to pay attention and figure out how to navigate the levels instead of just following waypoints aroundthe combat can be somewhat annoying because enemies will track through walls and fire at you intermittently regardless of line of sight so you either duck around a corner or have to tank damage with the shield which is kinda the same as the original but maybe could have been updated
>>735165416the normal difficulty is pretty chill IMO
