Do you prefer classy or classless design?
>>735165829classless is more fun, it give more opportunity to get what you actually want instead of 10 different things that you don't give a shit to build around but still bloat the class
>>735165829Depends. Classless can be cool but it can also result in omnibuilds where there's no real distinction or limits. Think Skyrim. You'll probably do a bit of stealth archer, with some crafting and maybe some melee and magic and it's such a samey experience for most players. But class design can be equally retarded. Where there's really only one way to build the class if you have any ability to read tooltips and by mid game it's functionally identical to if they instead implemented heroes/champions a la hero shooters/mobas. Each class is a canned playstyle with very little variation within
>>735165829Classless usually ends up being pretty fucking gay since people just gravitate towards whatever the fuck is considered to be the current meta build. Classes, at the very least, enforce some sort of constraint. Sure, at the end of the day, you might end up with the most effective build anyway, but at least you can give it the flavor you prefer, if the devs aren't shit at their job.
>>735168337>>735168518>healer can only be healer>thief can only be thief>tank can only be tanki love playing mage but i hate when the game force me to be "elementalist", fuck off i want to throw fireball and meteors, i don't care to apply weet status and then shock
>>735165829Classes are good when they're actually restrictive like in old school RPGs or some CRPGs. They're bad when devs start homogenizing them so they feel "balanced", like in MMOs.Classless is good when the game never really had a focus on Classes and it's not trying to hide that fact, like action adventure games. It's bad when you take a franchise that used to have a decent class system, that still had some flexibility, and dumb it down, allowing you to be everything like TES.
>>735165829You can switch class any timeyou play as the class to unlock skillsplaying as specific classes gives you passive buffs while in that class (ex: healers have 10% buff to healing specs)any class can use any skills you've unlocked while playing as other classesTales of World did this and it was the best customization system I've ever experienced to this day.
