Im not talking about rp servers or direct sources where people are there for that reason.Im talking MMOs, competitive games, even roblox games (not rp shit)Some that come to mind but idk which one to dedicate myself to are Guild Wars 2, Fallout 76, Deep Rock Galactic, Helldivers 2, Risk of Rain 2...I am thinking maybe of starting either Deep rock/ Guild Wars or fallout. Do you have any other suggestions? Do you think any of the ones i mentioned are good for this? Also heard FFXIV is pretty good for it too. Even League or deadlockRepost cause other thread had no title
Dota.Hate sometimes grows into friendship, unless your teammate is russian of course.
>>735166182Gotten alot of friendships from league not going to lie. Just dunno if I wanna get back to the grind but its definitely underrated in that aspect
FFXIV is a single player VN the vast majority of the time.Loneliest “mmo” I ever played.
>>735166331Im still thinking whether MMOs are still a good option for this tho. I have a small itch I want to scratch but its a big commitment
>>735165924>fallout seventy shitsfirstly don't ever try to look for friends on 4chong, from experience it doesn't end wellsecondly, also from experience, a lot of the seventyshits "community" (specifically people who trade a lot) is full of cancer and drama and i'd avoid it like the plaguet. wasted 2 years of my life on that fucking game
>>735166423yeah was just looking i can play over time and naturally meet people. Ive been hearing good stuff about 76 though, isnt most of that drama easily avoided? Heard the game got fixed from launch and is pretty good now
Old fanmade XtremeWorlds MMOs that no longer exist in the modern day is where I made my old group of friends. Unfortunately a few have (loathe as I am to say it) trooned out, and I have lost contact with the group in general.I do miss those simpler days chatting in Hamachi and Skype, I truly do.
>>735165924>Metin 2Used some cheating tool I found on YouTube and some guy noticed I was using it since he was doing the same kek. We exchanged Skype and became friends.>MinecraftOn some freebuild server a guy was asking in the public chat if someone had some resources for him and I gave him a step by step guide on how to use cheat engine to dupe items lmao. Also exchanged Skype with him and we played for years after this.I wrote this after reading the thread title and only now realize you weren't asking for stories. Too bad!
idgi, are you asking for stories about meeting ppl in vidya? Or asking for vidya good for that? I probably met most of my Steamquaintances in Dotard 2, TrannyFortress 2, Gayrry's Mod, in that order... and wouldn't recommend any of them. Def wouldn't recommend BF6, the FUCK YOU game of the year seemingly designed to isolate peopleBetter question is, why did cool generations like Squidward there die out so fast? AI threads are just coomer shit now. Society dead, creativity dead, gaming dead, all dead
>>735165924i met my entire friend group including the best man at my wedding from an online competitive pokemon community back in the dpp days
>>735166681Holy shit skype and hamachi arc was priceless. Fuck my adult chud life>>735166778Fuck yeah keep more stories coming actually thats a much better idea. I used to make cheats for csgo and made some friends that way too. Too bad the cheating scene is kinda gone now
>>735166785Both, if you just wanna give your story go ahead. Those are what I used to play the most when I was younger. Definitely the games that birthed the most amount of degens. Grew out of it and only play tf2 from time to time now. I definitely agree with almost everything being fake nowadays and the norm when gaming switching to just playing on your own (even online multiplayer titles) its pretty much impossible to meet naturally like the old days
>>735166785I got bored of playing with DALL-E after about two days and I suspect a lot of other people did the same.Last time I checked out one of those threads it was just a couple genuine schizos circlejerking and spamming horrible gens of their waifus.
>>735165924Pretty much any online game y'know...I haven't met anyone in singleplayer games.
>>735167763What are your anecdotes? Any recomendations in specific? Would love to hear your story too
>>735165924The /v/Peak lobbies.
WoW Burning Crusade for me, the original not the wow classic one. Back then it was extremely easy and common to fall in to friend groups, 16 year old me was friends with men and women in there 30's and 40's online. Now I find it kinda hard to do so. When WoW classic came out it was close, but the of the groups I was running dungeons with were already close knit from discord groups or other games.>>735166331This, it was fucking weird to because unless you wanted to talk about fetishes or rolled a Lalafell no one wanted anything to do with you.
>>735165924I made a lot of friends on wow. Most I talked to for a few years and then we drifted apart, but one guy I've known since I was a kid 20 years ago, and he's a few years older than me. He's basically a brother as we would hang out online so much.
>>735165924I've stayed friends with and still game with a dude from wow I was in a guild with in vanilla. Even went to his wedding a few years ago.
