>yes i hate gaming and modding and fun and happiness and i have a patreon how could you tell
What can he do if you do it anyway? Its just a mod lol
>>735167587he can have a meltdown and try to delete the whole thing from the internet. that's what they usually do
>>735167587Sue you for copyright, oh wait...
>>735167587they get you banned from every modding website and dox you and send you pictures of their festering axe wounds
>be me>be modder>wake up>open up grok>generate boob physics code for fallout 76>copy paste into .trojan file>upload to creation club>threaten to kill myself to the pethesda support offices so they ban the guy who said my code was bad>shit>get out of bed
>>735169138this is so unrealistic>get out of bedyeah fucking right
>>735169138That's some messed up sequence there buddy..
>>735169246jannies ban this guy or i'll kill myself
Back when I was still making Elden Ring stuff on Nexus, all I really said was that anyone can do whatever they want with my mods as long as they don't paywall them somewhere off-siteNo matter whatever I or the example in the OP might say, it's still as effective as pic related
>>735169752Exactly as long as someone isn't making money from your work who cares?(Of course this is exactly what happened when Bethesda started to monetize modding)
Reminder that this all stems from minecraft modding. That's what started this cancer. Modders hiding their downloads behind adfly links led directly to this modern hellscape where modders hide their downloads behind kofi and patreon subscriptions and constantly change the download links to deter "pirates" on kemono.
>>735170041>as long as someone isn't making money from your work who cares?I genuinely don't since I didn't do anything more ambitious than few dozen model swaps for armors, but Nexus is its own beast for some I spoke with, and since it supports donations to authors who connect their PayPal to it + you get free games and/or PayPal cash vouchers for some pennies depending on how many downloads your mods get monthly, some people still defend their pixels like their livelihood is on the line
>>735167326This is almost always a way to assertively say, "I'm not going to provide support for this mod because it conflicted with something in your kitchen sink modpack you downloaded elsewhere".
I get it.>Be modder>Make mod>Mod gets popular>Bunch of people put your mod in their shitty, poorly put together modpacks>Other people use modpacks>They're shitty and poorly put together>Now have an never ending flood of people whining to you about your mod not working/causing problems (In the shitty modpack filled with conflicting mods)He's saving himself future headaches.
