Is save importing an outdated concept in RPGs?

Nope. It’s just complicated for modern devs and most players (aka retards) don’t even give a shit about little details like that. There’s simply no incentive for devs to implement a save import feature
>>735173328ME3 wasting so much dev time on the ME2 squadmates + Wrex having nearly identical clones that they had no time for the ending is one of the best examples of why save importing sucks
desu I always thought so, no "choice" can ever really matter in the long run and constantly trying plan shit out games in advance just pigeon holes you into bad decisionsit also usually means any resolution is constrained to 2 possible states and the choices barely ever cross paths because if they did you would need to account for exponentially increasing outcomes
>>735173532ME3 wasting so much dev time on the ME2 squadmates + Wrex + fan service DLC is why it was kino. It’s the only series where choices actually mattered. ME isn’t for (You)
>>735172756I miss the days of very early RPGs where you could import parties not only from earlier games in the same franchise, but also games from DIFFERENT franchises, sometimes by different companies. Imagine if you could start Persona 6 and import your character from Elden Ring.
>>735172756It all comes down to the devs wanting to bother or not.
