Been playing Metal Gear Acid and I think I've gotten fairly far in it however it is becoming increasingly apparent as the game goes on that my decks kind of suck. I often find myself with a dead hand which I know from playing other card games means the deck isn't built correctly.A deck is 30 cards (or can be 35 or 40 but needs 30 minimum), and I have been working on the assumption of 1/3 weapons. 1/3, movement and 1/3 items and equipment but it doesn't feel like it always flows properly.Does anyone know how the fuck you are supposed to get this jank to actually work? I've looked around the internet but information on it is spotty and not very reliable. What would be most help is a general framework of a deck that can then be built around as well as how to do it for both Snake and Teliko specifically (Snake has more HP but can only usually play 2 cards a turn while Teliko has less but can play 3).
>>735578170Going to try 12 weapon cards, 4 cost reduction, 4 movement, 1 action booster, 1 draw card and then work in equipment and utility into the last 8 cards around that. Looks like it might be ok intuitively but we shall see.
Metal Gear Acid and the GBA Kingdom Hearts games are the main reasons I can't like Slay the Spire like everyone else I think. My parents got them for me because I wanted the main games in those series and now I think I just hate card systems. MGA especially was pretty mid.
>>735580931I remember Acid 2 being a big improvement but I can't remember why.
>>735581970Good to hear, but unfortunately Acid 1 inspired me to basically hate the genre as a whole.
>>735578170A few anons have confirmed my impression that Acid 1 seems to be balanced to fuck you somehow no matter how good your deck, I figure it's to create artificial length.>>735581970Konami should really re-release Acid 2 with Acid 1 as just a series of prologue cutscenes.
>>735582470I can sense that there are are working decks in there but the deck builder is extremely janky so it's not so easy to find. Snake works best with the "USE" type weapons i.e the SOCOM, FAMAS, and the rocket launchers/grenades because he lacks the REST to use equipped weapons effectively while Teliko can use the EQUIP type better. This then leads into Teliko needing more equipment slots than Snake because her weapons need to be equipped while Snake can just stick with the basic 2 slots that you stick some armour into. This then leads to how much equipment you should put in the deck i.e enough to fill the slots so 2 weapons and 2 equipment items for teliko and just 2 equipment items for snake.Current decks which seems to be working better:Snake4x SOCOM4x FAMAS1x Frag Grenade1x Chaff Grenade1x Nikita launcher1x Stinger launcher(12 weapons, 2 main weapons with 4 cards, 4 utility weapons with 1 each)1x Action +1x Briefing (draw card)(Action and draw cards)4x Cost -4(cost reduction)2x Front Evade2x Body Armour(to fill the 2 basic equipment slots)2x Ration1x Handy med kit(for healing and reviving your partner if they go down)4x Genome Soldier(Movement cards)1x Roy Campbell(Special card)Teliko4x USP4x AKS74u2x Claymore mine2x Survival Knife--1x Equipment lvl 21x double action--2x front evade2x scope-2x ration1x handy med kit--4x genome soldier--1x Olga Gerlukovitch----These are just using quite basic cards and could be upgraded to better versions but this is just to get something that works to begin with. They are both 30 cards so you can add more items with the extra unused space if you need to tailor them to a map such as bringing card keys, min detectors etc. The basic layout should work with other weapons too so long as you fit it into your equipment slots and don't try to do too much at once.
>>735584087Looking at it written down I think I could improve it further. Snake has all the anti robot cards so I should probably give the chaff grenade to Teliko instead, as well as have her go down to 1 mine and 1 knife then also give her a normal grenade too so she isn't useless against them.
>>735584751Oh yeah and give Snake a stun grenade as it synergises with the SOCOM pistol to knock people out.
>>735578170Having played a lot of yugioh, draw power/searching what you need is king. I haven't played acid since I was a kid tho, I'll have to look at a card list
>>735584964You draw 2 cards every turn so so long as you only play 2 per turn you don't need extra draw and can go down to playing 1 a turn if you need to build your hand back up. It's only when you start playing more than that (i.e with Teliko in short burts or when you pop off with extra actions cards) that you start to empty your hand. As such 1 draw card in your deck like Briefing or Olga seems to work fine (briefing for Snake, Olga for Teliko).
>>735585765Well, I'll have to go replay it, see you in a few days kek
>>735584087I'm actually screenshotting this to see how it goes myself.
>>735586185I forgot to include the 4x cost -4 (or whatever your best is) cards for Teliko. Those are important. Use them to get your time cost down to 0 so you can take consecutive turns before the enemy gets a chance to.
>>735586185>>735584087>>735582470>>735578170Zoomers are subhumans that don't even want to think for themselves. What's the fucking point in playing it? Just watch a video on youtube you stupid nigro
