>a turn based JRPG where you select different options from a menu to get different outcomes is considered gameplay>a visual novel where you select different options from a menu to get different outcomes isn’t considered gameplay How does this make sense?
>>735599072blatant discrimination
>>735599072unless it shows penis in vagina penetration with copious amounts of cum then it's not a real visual novel
>>735599072Because it's not tranime.
>>735599072The difference is if you choose 20 things a minute or five things a playthrough.
VNchads are the most oppressed people of the gamer race.
>>735599072It doesn't. Jarpig shitters are hypocrites. VNs deserve more respect for not lying to you about what they actually are (interactive books) meanwhile JRPGs will lie in their marketing making you think you're playing engaging action or a mindful strategy/tactical game. They're not. Fuck this piece of shit genre it's just trash
>>735599072In a JRPG you need to understand the game systems to select the right options in combat because if you select the wrong options you will game over and die.In a VN no matter which options you select the "game" will go on and eventually take you to an ending. It's that simple.
>>735599072JRPG combat is pretty braindead for the most part, but some of the hardest ones involve calculations that will filter 90%+ of the gamer population.
>>735599072Do you really not know what the difference is between a role playing game and a novel?
>>735604590>In a VN no matter which options you select the "game" will go on and eventually take you to an ending. There are several VNs where you can be barred from progress or get locked into a failure state, outside of bad endings. For example, in totono you have to figure out how to deal with the primary antagonist or you can not reach any ending and you can even get trapped and be forced to select a different save to continue. In Gnosia if you do not pursue the main objective and don't follow the hints you are given you will never be able to get an ending. There's also the fact that there are an endless number of games that have no failure states and will ensure you get an end no matter what you do that are also considered games and have even been actively discussed here and don't have their "game" status questioned.
