The very limits of an RPG game was pushed with Aidyn Chronicles and there you barely have any music, no sound besides a footstep, and the characters look like ass.
Quest 64 had potential (from what i remember magazines did show some beta screenshots with more characters besides Brian) but THQ fucked the game up by telling the devs to rush the game so they could release it before OoT (probably wanted to be the "first n64 rpg on the console" and get more sales), this is why the Japanese version has a bit more of story and improvements since it got released after the American release. There was going to be a sequel but it got canned, at least there's the GBC demake that is good apparently.>>735602197Most japanese developers had zero interest on the N64 because of its limitations, expensive devkits and production values (also difficult console to work with) and the console wasn't selling super well in Japan, no reason to develop for it over the PS1 even for a chance of success in other continents.
