Just finished the TV show, need to read the books now. I don't think it would translate to well into actual gameplay. Especially because I think devs will compromise to much to make it feel like traditional shooters so people don't complain about things like the fact they can't hear the enemy shooting in their direction in space. I'm reminded just how many people complained that in the TV show when it started thought it was a CGI error when ships were accelerating away from a station yet still heading toward it...

>>735699393I'm disappointed that with a game they didn't choose to show the Belters accurately. They are all extremely tall and lanky. That's crucial to their entire arc since they almost appear alien to "normal" humans that live in gravity wells, and belters see those people as the odd squat freaks. They identify with other belters through that shared experience. It also is crucial to the later story twists since they can't go get their own planet since they physically can't survive in normal gravity. This fuels their resentment and chaotic scramble to prevent belter society from being destroyed as if too many people leave, belters go extinct. If they just look like normal humans, the whole thing is just a confusing joke. That's why you get viewers wondering why anyone trusts belters and why they don't just kill them all since belters are "obviously just a small group of regular sized, upstart, brown people".
