Compared to season 1, the characters in season 2 were more illogical, their deaths were significantly less dramatic, a lot of people were generally more evil, and so onthis is to show how much worse the world has gotten over the past 2-3 years. it also shows that clementine will never have another lee figure, she needs to figure shit out on her own. i guess this is a good idea but...the execution was a game where you have to babysit a bunch of retards who you have 0 emotional attachment to. remember how you felt when kennys whole family died? how kenny sacrificed himself for ben? remember when you had to pick between who ate and who didn't? when you had to pick saving or killing someone that was a detriment to the group? remember how lee's death was literally the saddest thing ever? season 2 has no moments like that. it tried being more cold and depressing but was just less interesting

What kind of ticked me off is that 400 days was built up to be as if it was some big story arc but then how it tied in to season 2 was really lackluster in execution. Anyone else feel that way? like none of the choices that happened in that DLC ever had much impact over things? i feel like Tell Tale had an issue with stringing choices to make massively different results in scenarios across the seasons. Like importing your save data caused minimal narrative shifts for what they actually put into the game or what they wrote. It's just that 400 days seemed the least inconsequential of all of it.

Making choices doesn't heavily affect the narrative (even the person you fire comes back in the last episode), but it does make a big difference in gameplay. Even the big choice at the end with Invisigal is heavily affected by how often you sent her out and how well she did at her job. Good stuff.I think a story like TWD where different allies join or leave depending on your choices would work well if those allies felt different enough. Or maybe you have to make a tough choice between helping yourself or an ally, and choosing your ally would heavily set you back in gameplay. Just something to make small choices still feel they matter cause they have an impact on gameplay. The combat wouldn't even need to be super deep.

If you go down the river you have the Cockspur Island which has a U.S. Coast Guard fort which could be a good source of weapons and what not. Again Cockspur only has one bridge connecting it.
