I do like NF a fucking whole lot, but hopping online meant you had to autism all race with not even a 1% chance of winning if you didn't. That, and I got kind of bored after doing time trials sweating my ass of with a mechanic I didn't really liked.
At least in MK or CW you don't have to go full metautism to manage a few wins every once in a while if you're good enough.
After playing CW I really can't go back to other kart racers. It's the most fun I have playing online as long as metafaggots don't ruin your race all day and offline, since cpu manage to put some kind of fight in the higher levels.

There's an unmentioned +3 top speed on Ring Engine and +12 when doubling up, so if you can manage the ring loss it's worth it for going fast. Nah, he sorta starts as one, working with Dr.Wily, but he quickly turns against him.
He's just pissed cause Dr.Light put a crappy nuclear power core in him, and he'll blow up someday cause of it, but to fix it he'd have to lose his memory, or "himself" or something?
So he runs off on his own and tends to help Megaman from the shadows while looking cool and stuff, cause he doesn't wanna be tied down to anyone. Something like that
