You know, the more I play this, the more I wish PA would just pull a CroTeam and make a puzzle game next. Some iffy signposting aside, the Abyss is, mechanically and visually, the high point of the game. If they made something that was just solving puzzles by fiddling with magical machinery next, I'd be absolutely happy. I enjoy the combat and exploration fine and all the autistic submechanics but for the lack of quest design worth a damn in the side quests, I keep going back to the Abyss puzzles until I'm told I need to progress the main quest.Now, at chapter 6, some more faction questlines have opened up and maybe the quest design picks up but I'm not getting my hopes up after all the Greymane quests so far have consisted of "Ride down the canyon with someone because they want to do some brainless task together, have them leave you to actually do it on your own, go back to camp." and the House Roberts quest was just clearing a bunch of random enemy outposts.

Or I had a segment yesterday in chapter 5 where you go from the tower to a sky elevator into the abyss and yeah there was a brief seconds where you break through the clouds that might have been used for loading but otherwise I'm super impressed with how seamless everything is
