I really tried to like FF14, but after 20-40 hours, I just never "got" it. It's been awhile, but I think it was due to the flow of combat. For the magic classes I tried, a lot of their basic attack skills caused them to get locked in place, and the skill would fail if you moved. Compare that to Guild Wars 2 where you can move while using a lot of the magic attacks. Plus, Square is retarded. If you pay for the monthly fee once, you have to keep paying if you want to continue using that account. Not even EA is like that with SWTOR.

How do people cope with all the back and forth and back and forth and back and forth? I assume it's not an issue later, but I remember doing the trial and 90% of all the story quests were just "go to this really out of the way continent, talk to someone, go back the Waking Sands" repeated over and over again. Does the game have fast travel? I remember taking mount taxis frequently and those still being slow and have annoying music. The one positive is that it has an amazing free trial. I played about 50 hours, which is longer than most games.

Theoretically as a huge scalie I should have no problem getting into WoW, the only MMO out there that lets you play a dragon man. However, there's so many things about it that stunlocked me. The art style for the most part looks downright silly (TO ME), and every other time I peer into a thread about WoW, actual WoW players seem to bemoan the story/lore just getting worse and worse as time goes on. I don't know if I should be investing time into something that longtime players are getting sick of getting more of, and jump for joy when they rerelease old expansions via the Classic thing.
