There's also passives that will scale your damage, movement, and other stats. I love the self damage builds on butcher, but normally you need to bring along some items and take certain spells like regurge to help enable it. With empath you get to free up a bunch of slots, you can focus more on utility/healing spells. Like if you have loose meat and succ, it's basically 2 mana to heal yourself 4. That's on top of triggering any self damage synergy, any healing synergy, and any food synergies.

In this scenario you probably want to swap around gear so that the speedy cat isn't the fastest, and your fastest cat will need to be able to take out the speedy cat along with its own clone. If there's a depressing modifier, things get much tougher. All clones will go before their respective cat, you'll need to plan ahead here. Your goal is to simply survive to a turn where a big damage cat can take down the clones. It doesn't matter if every other cat goes down here, as long as you can make it to the next phase and reach the end of the round with corpses intact, they'll all get revived. To this end, you'll need something for your big damage cat that lets it survive that cats that act before it. This could be as simple as being tanky. AI is dumb, you can exploit it with things like frying pan (AI will always go for backstabs if it can, so you take 0 damage). Or backflips, AI doesn't know to use weaker attacks to waste flips. Basically you just need to survive until you get a turn with a cat that can turn the tides. Turn order matters a lot here too. Something like red mushroom is potentially great, AI will use it willy nilly but you can use it on the most dangerous cat or even just a cat who'll act next. Having to down your own cat is a small price to pay if you get to charm your fighter who downs all the other clones.
