>>
>>735925940
That and they probably are playing with rental decks instead of their own savefile

>>
>>735926068
enter the preferences option and customize your folder setup there, it should give you some presets and the "manual save" folder that you're using in said game.
>>
Aren't the protagonists of Lunar Knights called Django and Sabata in Japanese? Why did Capcom go so far as to localize names of Cards that didn't exist in the US releases?
>>
>>735925997
I can't wait to bully all the rentalfags when after I finish SF3
>>
>>735926068
Go to the Preferences menu and select the game you're playing. Then go to the version you're playing, and select your own deck.
>>
>>735926130
Yes, but also no. Lunar Knights got a localization that had different names from the Boktai localizations, Capcom just used those names instead of the Boktai names.
>>
>>735926302
I know they're using the pre-existing localized names, but it seems like an empty gesture. Konami already determined Boktai 1 and 2 flopped so hard they skipped localizing 3 and changed the names in 4 to make it seem like a new IP. I'm a fan of LK, and I was disappointed SF1 didn't have the crossover, but I can't imagine most people buying the LC give a shit about LK.
>>
>>735926521
They just want to keep things consistent, I'd assume. Meanwhile they changed Lyra to Harp, but only in SF1, she's still Lyra in SF2/3. Fucking Capcom.

Obviously you never never remove something from a game, but I think adding something that was originally removed should be fine.

>>735926882
I always wonder why games that have DLC costumes never just bring in concept arts that didn't make the original cut, or have fan votes to bring them in. Street Fighter and other fighting games that do nothing but release chars or costume packs never do this. Juri always has loads of costume ideas they drop forever.

On a side note, I'm more surprised they haven't thought about making a PVP MMBN game yet, especially with how successful it was. You'd think including one in the collection or THIS one with some of the cards/chips from each games ported over would make sense. They could release new chip/buster/ability packs. As much as I hate gacha, they literally have a means to print money off the Starforce and Battle network series, but like all shit Megaman, Konami seems to fumble with its existence.
>>

>>
>>735927179

>>
>>735927241
The design is okay, but it's the only one that really doesn't fit. Pirate tribe does fit and would have made complete sense for the element circle. Instead, we have Zerker in both versions, which would have been a choice between 2 tribes in 2 different game carts.

You'd have Fire -> Wood -> Thunder -> Water -> Fire

We also never got the Phone games Legends of Network and Phantom of Network put on anything else, despite them having full sprites. Sherrice was the secondary antagonist. You can tell some of her design was reused for Luna Platz. I knew about the games and the bosses from decades ago, but I'm just now finding out she was a love interest as well. Apparently the game has a scene with Lan finding her at his house being thought how to cook by his mom, in an effort to impress him. She's also similar to Solo from the Star Force series, because she's from some super old civilization and gets awakened in Lan's era during the story. They basically reused a lot of this game's stuff for Star Force 2. I wonder if they would have outright connected her to Solo and Mu, had the games not been just phone stuff.

Suarian was probably a mix of caveman than just dinos. I assumed it was Caveman/Dino hybrids, Ninjas, Samurai/Warriors. In all likelihood, they probably all didn't exist during the same time. It could have just been the leading factions of each era, rather than warring one's in the same time.

Thats just being realistic. Star Force 4 would be cool but it’s unlikely to sell enough for Capcom to see it as worth the effort. A new series would have the same appeal as well as serving as a jumping on point for new fans.

I mean, we literally have the tech to emulate the entire PET idea in full. The fact that it's taking this long is stupid. Capcom really fumbled their franchises. Look at how they handled Devil May Cry. They almost killed it by trying to reboot it with DmC. Capcom is one of those companies that had it made decades ago, then fumbled their success for decades until recently. Then again, so did Konami and Square. I'm noticing a pattern here.

I'm starting to remember that SF1 happened around the time BN writers were still up their own asses with "we have to make the mini games every dungeon into some bullshit that makes you never want to replay it"

BN4 and BN5 were the apex of "I want the fans to fucking dread ever replaying this game"
I can never forgive the trial of 100 mini game

SF3 somehow managed to not have any outright annoying mini games

Best case scenario for him would be something like Fawful in Bowser's Inside Story. Not necessarily being the main bad guy like Fawful but with the right setup he could still hijack the story. More likely they'd just make up some bullshit about him getting power from the next game's bad guy tho

They could do something interesting like at the start you get to pick one of them.
You pick Sonia and you get to play as Heart Note during the rest of the game.
You pick Luna and Megaman gets a ton of power ups.

Why dragon and joker, if you can explain?
>>
>>735972859
Did i fuck up picking dragon
>>
>>735973192
Like everyone who fell for the status guard meme.
It's good in Joker for SF3 because you can't get your transformation cancelled once you Finalize. But in SF1 if you get hit by your weakness your transformation gets cancelled and you lose status guard. You DO want brotherbands from Dragons though.
>>
>>735972995
Dragon is what's generally recommended because it gets status guard as a passive ability and the other forms don't have anything to compensate for it. It's pretty simple. FWIW to the anon talking about Leo I'm playing SF3 first so maybe SF1 really is just infested with dragons and you can counterpick with Leo or some shit.

Joker in 3 is a lot better for PvP because it has Super Armor on all your attacks as well as status guard again. It's the 2 best passives in one package. In single player though Black Ace is more of an equal choice because you don't need what Joker gives you as much + the cards in the black ace folder are actually better than Joker
>>
>>735973356
ok but what if I don't get hit with my weakness
>>
>>735973940
Oh, and one more thing. Joker players will want the bonuses from Black Ace brothers so if you want to make brotherbands picking Black Ace can be an advantage for that
>>
>>735974136
There are many good fire cards in SF1 that hit the whole backrow area and you can be baited out to shield too early or simply.
Also everyone is running Taurus Fire and Ursula so you get cancelled on screen dimming wars.

>>
>>735977113
>>735977334
Yes. In SF1, the forms don't matter beyond elemental weaknesses, though Dragon is nice (ingame) for Status Guard. In SF2, you can use Wave Command cards to start as any of the three base forms (SF1 has this ability in Japan, but they didn't keep it in the Legacy collection for some reason, presumably because if you can do this then there's literally no reason at all to play all three), and then multiform into the others. SF3 is the only one where it really matters because Joker is better than Ace, but only if you're getting really into the nitty gritty with PVP. Both Black Ace and Red Joker curbstomp damn near everything in the singleplayer equally as brutally if you get the galaxy server level high enough.

Quick search told me that Capcom served several financial struggles due to several Arcades of them shutting down in the west that year resulting in Yoshiki Okamoto (the creator of Final Fight and Darkstalkers, also the producer of Street Fighter 2) leaving the studio that year and Red Dead Revolver which was an IP he pitched getting canceled. I like how the strongest protagonist in the Kojimaverse resembles a shonen jump hero. And this Solar Boy Django was meant to be enjoyed by his kids which is why he's the strongest and the most heroic. In the mind of someone who's consumed as much media as Kojima, it goes to show that the purest embodiment of heroism is the traditional shonen hero.

Mystery Data/Wave drops in both BN and SF, though they are way limited and the majority of Chips/Cards are only gotten via battling normally. You could theoretically farm them once you get access to the Traders and dump your spares there to get cards that way.

(Me) I forgot, this is more viable in SF because there are no codes. In BN playing this way is more of a pain because you have to factor in the codes and the Chip Traders tend to give priority to codes you don't have in your Pack before you can start getting extra copies of ones you have.

Megaman Exe is all about static characters

Megaman Starforce is all about development, which is why you have to play the games in order. Even Geo is almost unrecognizable from game 1 to game 3. He starts off as Shinji, and ends up as some other sort of Super Robot character.

I think every character in this game goes through a very long character arc through the series Except Pat who entirely stops existing after game one.

She goes patrolling around the neighborhood nightly when she hears there's incidents happening, she took in two stooges who would have been losers on their own, she can't help taking care of people in her own prickly way, they appreciate being her underlings so much that the idea of losing her friendship sent Bud spiraling, everything she does has good intentions or trying to help people, she's just kinda forceful about it. She appeals to a certain type, also she has a strong dere side whenever she latches onto something.

She's basically Yai combined with Tron Bonne

It's just an alt timeline scenario where humanity dies from being unable to stop La Mu and you refight alt timeline versions of old bosses and then fight La Mu's son, The way the bosses are written for their pre battle conversations it's like the EM beings basically just bodyjacked their human hosts, this includes alt timeline Lyra bodyjacking alt timeline Sonia.

That's basically SF2's plot, just them wanting Ra Moon and ancient super advance civilization shenanigans in Battle Network.

No there is
Its a filler arc, but its a "canon" filler arc, as dumb as it sounds
For as little as it matters it still kinda matters a bit. Some filler arcs in anime still stupidly incorporate official material from actual arcs, so its hard to entirely skip them.

SF2's post-game is maybe the one redeeming part about it, and that's if you can still stomach the encounter rate after playing the main story.

Years back after playing SF1DX I went straight into SF2, and got fed up part-way into post game and jumped straight back into SF3 kino.
SF3 100% is a fucking joy and challenging Crimson Dragon Sigma is a blast.
>>
>>735997225
It matters so you know the backstory for Rogue, who barely matters. Dark Phantom is also there but even in SF2 he's just some random evil nigga.
>>
>>735997081
The funny thing is that they basically already did a prototype SF2 in LoN.
>>
You can just get all the cypher cards from the mail, turn off encounters, and speed run SF2 a bit
At least get to the good part near the end. When the story starts getting good you can play normally again. Just treat Starforce kinda like an anime at times rather than a game.

Even now its so strange how OC every single thing in the anime was when the game already gave a perfect image of what the anime should be.

I think localization entirely changed it

https://www.therockmanexezone.com/wiki/Localization_Changes_in_Mega_Man_Star_Force

In japanese it was an Umaibou

>Umaibō (うまい棒) is a popular, inexpensive Japanese puffed corn snack, meaning "delicious stick," known for its cylindrical shape, light, crunchy texture, and wide variety of flavors, from savory (cheese, salad) to sweet (chocolate). Each stick is individually wrapped in foil, making it easy to carry, and features a mascot named Umaemon. It's a long-selling product, launched in 1979, and is a staple in Japanese convenience stores and markets.

>Umaibō is known for its extremely cheap suggested retail price of 10 yen (about 9 US cents in 2022), and this is part of the product's appeal. After staying stably at that price point since the product's launch in 1979, it was announced in January 2022 that the price would increase to 12 yen, the first increase in over forty years.[3] In September 2024 it was announced that prices would be increased further from 12 to 15 yen.

Very good. Basically 2.5D spaghetti western Zelda games except Link has a gun with a sunlight gimmick. There was a lot of thought put behind the sunlight mechanic since the physical games had a built in solar senor in them. They're obviously trying to make Metal Gear for kids so you often sneak past enemies or distract them or whatever. The biggest problem is the game actually checks for sunlight, and tons of sun means the game is way too easy but no sunlight means you don't get to play.
>>
>>736000983
https://www.therockmanexezone.com/wiki/Mega_Man_Star_Force_1
SP bosses are in the same location as the EX form was, but as a 6.5% random encounter. If you're hunting them to get sub 10s time, you can use the always successful run option with encounters turned to maximum to speed through encounters as fast as possible. Then, once you get them the first time, use Search Eye and save, then load from your Autosave if you don't get sub-10s. The autosave is AFTER you used the searcheye with them already locked in, so you can keep redoing the battle until you get the time you want (or the EX card if you're just that good).

As far as standard cards, if you want to cheese it, you can use the card trader with the Lunar Knights cards, the game lets you claim unlimited LK Crossover cards and you can just get 99 of every kind and just throw those into the card trader SP at AMAKEN until you get everything, as seen >>735920754.

If I recall correctly, it breaks the rules of 2D Mega Man. I think you have to slide under his legs to avoid some attacks? Which isn't possible in sprite-based games. I suck at tcg and deck building, am I going to get filtered my these games?
>>
>>736032137
deck building is simpler than in BN so probably not.
>>
>>736032137
It's also an action game so you can just learn enemy patterns and let that carry you for a while. Also there's not many options for cards in the early game. So you're probably only in danger to get filtered later on after you get your noise change.
>>
>>736031307

It's like the best parts of BN3's style changes, and BN6's cross system.
It gives you lots of build and progression options to play with, like aiming to get various noises for their top-tier ability waves, and then finish on your preferred base-noise for working with double-noises.

Styles at least come with additional abilties that can change your playstyle and you don't lose them if you get hit by your weakness.
There's no reason for StarForce forms to be cancelled, is not like BN6 crosses that would flip the entire combat if left unchecked.
>>
>>736039040
>additional abilities

A shield you never fucking use? Yeah you got that in SF1 and you actually use it.

>>
>>736037849
>>736039040
Star Force is able to use side select which is the best ability in these games. SFB are also extremely powerful and can be chained like if you could spam giga cards. They're stronger than styles and probably stronger than crosses on higher levels since they get their max value with counters while crosses give up countering bonuses but they just don't interact with the card effects, they only improve base mega abilities.

The translators just kinda sucked at dealing with the harsh character limits of the font for MMBN/MMSF on chips/cards, these effects are more obvious in MMBN where you don't have lock on and enemies being behind each other is more common.

I think certain things should be "fixed" when a game gets re-released a few decades later. If there were major translation issues, or certain cards were mistranslated.

But you run the risk of translators also fixing things that aren't mistakes, just things they don't like.
