>not building your batteries at height limitBig dumb
>>735931603i've never seen a game about growing trees in commie blocks and i think i already hate it from this one glimpse
It turns out you can build in one little area at the bottom of the lake at Gale Reactor in Abiotic Factor. I didn't put much there yet.
minecraft modded world, starting farm area
>>735931740i've never seen anyone grow trees in such a soulless way in this game until OP's screenshotit's pretty impressive
>>735931603>a parking garage for treesI hate this
I'll post a couple of my Terraria bases
>>735934481
>>735931603son lowkirkenuinely builted a parking garage for trees im crine
>>735934581This is meant to be a recreation/improvement to the initial sky island I made since I lost that save
>>735931603You could chip away sections of the perfectly rectangular tree building so that it looks like destroyed, overgrown ruins.
>>735931740Pretty sure it's Timberborn, a "timberpunk" game about intelligent beavers building a city. So yeah, they'd have industrial-scale tree farming.
>>735933706comfywish i could build
>>735931740You could always build out instead of up
>>735935223Man alright I'll get the game, since Whiskerwood won't run on my laptop.
I can't pull myself away from the river
>love playing city builders>suck at building citiesWoe is me.
>>735936128Is that Norland? How is it? Is it just medieval Rimworld?
>>735931603Man, I want to get into city builders but every time I look into how to play them it's always unfun looking hyper optimisation strats like this. I dunno how you people do it. I'd want my city looking picturesque as possible while trying to keep it running well.
>>735936431>Is that Norland?Songs of Syx
>>735936508this is either a hyper autist going overboard or someone just using cheatsTimberborne can be as easy or challenging as you want it to bekinda surprised how fun it is to be honest
>>735936778Maybe I'll go with timberborn next time I wanna try to get into city builders
>>735936508> I'd want my city looking picturesque as possible while trying to keep it running wellThen just do that. It's a big sandbox, you can build whatever you can.
>>735935032its not that hard, just build cool shit and keep a theme, once you learn how to frame a handful of buildings the rest comes naturally
>>735937116My issue is I don't know how to play these things, I always reach some kind of bottleneck and everything starts going wrong. Anytime I look up guides, it's never the basics or intermediate shit, it's always high level optimisation shit that is both out of my wheel house and doesn't interest me as a play style even if I did understand what I was doing.I wanna make a cozy city without shit collapsing in on me with the game sending me notification after notification of this demand not being met, this item is now critically low, or an entire district being on fire.
>>735937993cities skylines is a very accessible/forgiving game and you can go as slow or as fast in terms of development as you'd likeive never played the sequel but i cant imagine the made the game immensely challenging, its great if you just want to build casuallyanno 1800 is another good choice but that is a bit more demanding in terms of resource production and allocation, you can turn off all the combat elements and just focus on aesthetics and if you simply follow ratios for production (two wheat to 1 bread house, etc.) then its all very straight forwardpic not my build but it does let you build really appealing cities, though sadly 1800 is on a square grid i heard the recent roman game is lacking in many areas despite having diagonal roads
>>735938186i should also add to pirate both titles because they are filled with 100s of microDLCs
>>735937696I try. I think it's a 3-piece because I don't stick to the same world for long, I spend too long looking for the right place, and I prefer small, compact builds. I think it would help if I get some mods that add more to the game, like seasons and exp mods.Cool pic, especially love the wheat hill. Is that a man-made tower up there in the mountains?
>>735938186Anno 1800 was one of the three I've played cause it was recc'd a lot. In that one, shit kept getting set on fire (I had way too many firehouses at one point so fires were put out quick but they kept happening at a strange rate) and I kept running out of resources. Mainly coal & iron, roughly at the same point which was soon after unlocking them in the story mode.Tried multiple times but gave up cause didn't get what I was doing wrong. Especially when I mainly repeated what the game told me to do.
>>735931603I don't play timberborn anymore because they dedicated a whole update to kvetching about ukraine.
>>735931603my enjoyment of this game increased immeasurably when i realized you can add custom images to the banners
>>735939395what a hellish existence it would be, where is the misato banner?
i hate killboxes like you wouldn't believe
>>735938506good. we don't want you.
>>735939573shill me on Rimworld
>>735940567no
>>735940709what kind of minecraft is this
>>735940806I hope uh... something bad happens in your save file. Like a plague or whatever the game is capable of.>>735940827Vintage Story. It's alright, but simple tasks take a long time and requires autism to fully enjoy it.
>>735940882losing is funtm
>>735940827Vintage Story like the other anon said, with conquest reforged textures and some cloud shader mod
>>735940882>>735941161Vintage Story seems like so much fun but I cant get behind the busy and unfun work like taking care of animals and the querns. just kils my fun. looking forward to Lay of the Land.
I was never a big fan of the Iron Teeth, but the super fast tubes they added have made me a convert. I love seeing my little beaver dudes zooming around the map.
I had a lot of fun planning out and building this machine room
>>735941918charcoal is my biggest gripe with the game, making iron/steel and smithing in general requires so much of it and filling a 3x3 charcoal pit with firewood takes a small forest worth of trees and occasionally you'll misplace one piece of firewood and the entire batch will be lost
>>735931740>i've never seen a game about growing trees in commie blocks and i think i already hate it from this one glimpseUsh, OP is an autist. You really wouldn't build it that way without trying to, it's not even economical at first.>my Rimworld picAdmire the jade palace of the Empress-Goddess Jade, she's wearing an almost full set of archotech prosthetic
>>735940567Colony builder that's special for being extremely granular (meaning your colonist have organs you can lose, remove and replace and so on), all the colonist also have personality traitIt also has multiple biome, climate, day/night duration based on where it is on the planet. You can move with caravan over the planet, even before buying the DLC that let you make your colony into a spaceship. There's "storytellers" generating plenty of events, from dry storm, to spaceship parts falling down the sky with hostile insectoid or robot inside...There's a few DLC adding variety and sometime critical feature:- psychic power and Dune like faction that let you roleplay as king & noble + extra armors + psychic wood people, nice to have- tech heavy one that let you fight extra robot faction, and clone or grow children (it's not that necessary as it sound), also techno vampire, don't ask. I don't recommend this one- IDEOLOGY, which is great because it let you give your colonist belief and trait you would normally not have. So you can make a colony of technophile which practice cannibalism.- questionable one that let you essentially roleplay as SCP foundation with eldritch monster- and ODYSSEY which let you build your colony into a spaceship and move from area to area
>>735931603>vertical tree farmingShit, why didn't I think of that? Would have helped a lot on this map.
Its very straight forward util yuou have 10 different products that need 20 inputs with different speeds and different demands, that also needs to take the transatlantic journey into account, and the speedup by powering certain industries
>>735931603this is why i don't think automation games work very well in the 3d space, providing you can place on the z-axis. it just encourages ugly, vertical factories. the only game it really works in is modded minecraft cus you can hide them with nice buildings. it's the reason despite trying many times i've never been able to get into satisfactoryi could try to tame my autism and just not build efficiently in a vertical space but that doesn't seem possible
>>735934773Nice work anon.
>>735934481>get hit with 10 forward smashes in a row as you bounce off the tunnel walls
>>735947871kek
>>735933706Which mods & version?
>>735931603What the hell? I played timberborn and I thought it was some small cozy city building game. What the fuck is this?
>>735934773spruce it up a bit more. here's a reference
>>735946235this looks infinitely nicer than my bases even when I'm three times as rich
>>735938506Imagine how awful life has to be right now (and how awful it's going to get) for that kind of person in the next 10 years when Russia, Iran, and China force out liberalism and progressiveness from their spheres of influence (which will be pretty much the whole world outside of the Americas).Genuinely something to consider when buying a game before 1.0: the dev might ACK before full release.
