That's the exception and not the rule, Nintendo crossovers don't really make much sense outside of like DK/Mario, Marvel characters live in a shared universe, Nintendo characters appear in conflicting timelines, Splatoon and Xenoblade are both post apoc earth but the apocalypses are completely different.

Zelda has already proven they won't do Smash Bros. Not is a "NCU" sense anyway. Personally I'd rather them do that, keep them seperate universes.

If they want to do smash, just make it it's own thing. Go back to the "kid playing with toys in his imagination" thing the original had.

Oh yeah, multiverse is an asspull but Marvel is still loaded with characters from different comics having shared histories and even coming together as a team, Nintendo is far more of an asspull, Smash Bros doesn't even work as a film, how are they even going to build up a big bad like Thanos? and then there's the issue of IP being all over the show with Sony pictures having Zelda, and Illumination having Mario/DK, and they are owned by Universal, and then there's Pokemon at WB, soon Paramount.

the main issue (to them at least) is that they consider the MCU as cinematic poison and anything that is starting to resemble it should fail. obvously, they are idiots.

having said that, i cant accept it because of the style consistency issue i have mentioned many times before, but also, because its way too soon for that. as i said it before, even if they did decided to go for a universe with mostly animated movies and live action zelda, you need a steady, continuous movie flow to get the audience hooked up. you just cant release one movie every 3 years, but the opposite, you need to release 3 movies AT MINIMUM per year. something kinda hard when you are doing animated movies, unless you have more studios on hand other than Illumination, and that alone can lead to MORE consistency issues.
