Good game that has no equal in modern gaming.

Jensen Deus Ex is way below it to the point of where even Invisible War should be defended in comparison compared to those dumbed down casualized games. Although only under those circumstances.

Anon, I've always defended IW as being better than it gets credit for, but it's decidedly a worse experience than HR, and arguably MD.
Universal ammo alone disqualifies it from any favorable comparisons about "casualization."

The other one isn't even a Deus Ex game. IW was just a flawed one.
>>

Awful stealth and shallow RPG mechanics in a mediocre shooter. It LARPs as a choice based game but none of your choices really matter or alter the story so don't overthink it. My advice: disregard stealth, don't try and be non lethal, just turn every level into a massacre, it's the only way to get any fun out of this game. Elite OST though.

>You get to press a button to choose what ending cutscene you want
Just like the original.
>>
>>735941361
Kino. I beat it for the first time last month and while the Adam Jensen games have better gameplay they don't hold a candle to the atmosphere and story of the original.

I never uninstall it. The space the game takes up is tiny by modern standards, which is ironic because it's also much longer than the average modern game.

>have better gameplay
If better gameplay consists of cutscene takedowns then i don't want to know what good gameplay is.
>>
>>735941361
A cool Firsr Person RPG with a good variety of locations and enemies and a unique setting. The gameplay is the fun part but basically the balance is fucked to accommodate the everything works approach, JC always becomes Ludicrously overpowered
>>
>>735949839
They screwed up with melee combat but everything else in Adam's games plays better.
>>
>>735949839
Yeah I guess the cutscene takedowns are shitty and retarded, but the stealth is improved, the hacking is more interesting, the shooting is better and the augmentations are more fun and useful.
>>
>>735949651
the process of getting an ending in og DX is more involved than just "pushing a different button", but letting you choose any ending in area 51 irrespective of your choices in the rest of the game is pretty weak. didn't get a vial of ambrosia for dowd? put down debeers and got scolded by everett as a result? doesn't matter; the Illuminati ending will be open to you even if you acted in ways that are disadvantageous for that organization.

They should've made it so Helios would only want to merge with you, if you actually were competent and generally morally good.
It's basically looking for a morally-good person to complement it's cold AI logic.
>>
>>735950617
that would address my somewhat minor complaint of non lethal gameplay generally just being a self imposed challenge that the game almost never acknowledges once you defect from UNATCO. Helios telling you to fuck off if you're a murderhobo and refuse to help anyone who isn't relevant for story progression would be a nice way of having consequences for the player's actions throughout the game
>>
>>735951106
I feel like that's a bit too punishing if you weren't aware that there'd be consequences down the line, though it's not an entirely bad idea.
>>
>>735941576

Based. I have been defending IW as better than HR and MD for years.

If somebody shoots at you in a video game, shooting them is morally justified. I am sick and tired of 'lol just like...Don't defend yourself!' morality in vidya.
Made Metro Last Light insufferable.

You know, sneering at everything isn't a substitute for a personality.
>>
It's a little janky, but man the music and story are so cool. I did not expect the soundtrack to be the highlight for me.
>>
>>735951143
I don't mind if one of the endings is a bit more obtuse to achieve than the others; I'd certainly prefer it to how straightforward they all are to achieve in the game currently.
>>735951282
I generally agree with your sentiment in games that try to mix lethal/nonlethal playstyles with player morality, but Helios specifically wants to merge with a living person so it can take human understanding into account as it rules as a benelovant dictator, even ditching Bob Page since he's so batshit insane.
following a more pacifist/discreet playstyle shouldn't be the sole deciding factor in whether or not it elects you as a suitable candidate, but that type of individual is more attractive than a person who leaves a mountain of bodies wherever they go if you're looking for a levelheaded individual to benevolently rule with.
