One of the issues here is that what the "people" here are asking is not for a japanese level translation like in the current chapters of Deltarune, a translation where Toby is deeply involved and overseeing every part of it, no, they want the low effort translation typical of other games, one where the author creates some bullet points for clarifications and style guides, and then hands it to a bunch of different translation studios all at the same time and just let them do whatever the fuck they want with it. The only thing they want is an option to play the game in their language, without actually giving a shit about the quality. Frankly Toby could translate the whole thing with AI, make a human translator give it a onceover, ship it, and these "people" would lap it up.
I've noticed certain demographics like Ukrainian and Chinese people get really, really mad if your game doesn't have an official translation in their language for reasons beyond my understanding. I guess we can now add Spanish/Portuguese people to that list?

If you already speak Spanish or Portuguese, English is piss-easy and can be learned by playing vidya just like I did. The jump from Spanish to English isn't as high as English to Japanese. So even if it makes Toby sound like an insufferable weeb (which he is), an OFF Japanese translation is more noteworthy than a Spanish translation for any game.And for me, crying for a translation just makes them sound lazy and ignorant.The concert thing is more understandable. Even Miku and fucking Crush 40 are coming to Mexico.
I'm probably wrong about this but I bet the only reason Japanese is the only other language Deltarune got is because Toby is such a weeb he already was learning Japanese, so he was fine with someone else making a translation since he knew enough of the language to be involved with it. And the reason there isn't a Spanish translation is just because Toby doesn't know Spanish, so he wouldn't be able to make sure the script fitted his writing even if a Spanish translation would reach a wider audience than a Japanese translation. Also why is this a issue? It looks like the people complaining knew enough English to play through the game and be fans of it? I think this is more Toby wants to be involved with script and isn't comfortable with just handing it to someone else without having knowledge of the language itself to make sure everything lands. Like if Toby knew French instead of Japanese that would be the only other language option.
