its your fault for buying online only games. if a car model stopes being produced or the maker goes bankrupt so does the service and spare parts

Why do people with such defecist and oppressive mindset exist.
>>
>>735946025
because they have seen movements like this pop up countless times and they always either fail or get subverted.

Hey it's the journey that counts not the destination.
>>
>>735946025
you okay shartinder? explain to me what you think defecist means
>>
>>735945537
it's closer to "right to the brand bought by some patent troll that threaten to sue whoever dares to produce the replacement"
>>
>>735946118
What it says on the tin. It's a portmanteu of indians being obsessed with shit (feces) and trying to demoralize those who are for [thing] (defeatist).

this shit was doomed then the organizers failed to find a good past game to apply this to

There's been plenty of cases when corporations attempted to rape games with always online shit or other garbage like limited installs. There's plenty of paid products out there designed to have a "limited lifespan" or even shit like Destiny 2 where they keep removing old content all the time. It doesn't matter what your personal opinion is, always online shit for paid products is cancer and must be opposed. Indifference or scoffing makes corpos think they can just keep going and make things worse.
>>
>>735946476
Still going? Eventually you will read the FAQ.
>>
>>735945417
The one major characteristic shared between Americans and Indians is their inexplicable, slavish devotion to corporation. There's not a corporate cock they will not suck with gusto, to their own detriment.

To Americans and Indians the notion that a government actually, you know, governs, is appalling. For some reason regulations are Satan's own works, but poisoning your food is peachy.
>>
>>735945417
I understand the idea behind it, but honestly, I dont care if crap like anthem or Concord gets fucking delisted and dies.
>>
>>735947081
>ugly whore image
>worthless opinion
>>
>>735947081
>goy opinion
Fuck off. It always starts with "erm this doesn't affect me I don't care lol" then people like you ask how things got so bad. It's like how copy protection evolved into straight malware and telling people they're only allowed to install their games a limited number of times. Or how horse armor led to the modern DLC hellscape. Or how always online games supposedly weren't a problem because "what, you don't have internet at home? Lol" but no one thought what will happen if the product they paid for will go offline. Apathy is what they want.
>>
>>735947216
>then people like you ask how things got so bad
I've seen fags like you insist this and it never happens. I just do basic consumer diligence and don't buy obviously shit games that has stuff like online only.
Crying to the EU for massive industry intervention because you can't read a label or because your favorite bing bing wahoo series is now online shit is retarded.
>>
>>735945417
>let´s make governments aware of video games so they can censor and restrict even more things than corpos are already doing
>just so they can force companies to put a disclaimer that your game will suddenly die
>>
>>735947340
>bro , you don't have internet at home?
>it's just silly armor for your silly horse, it's not a big deal!
>just don't pirate games and copy protection will never bother you!
And yes, I know that retard burgers like you don't know what it's like when goverment actually enforces consumer rights.
>>
>>735945417
Do you think law making just happens over night, especially when it doesn't involve a massive tragedy?
>>

Dumbest jeet on the planet, probably underage too
>>
>>735947414
There's government protecting people from shit like ingesting fucked up chemicals in necessities to life like bread or something.
And there's government """protecting""" people from letting them chose with their wallets which games and game companies are shit or not.
Hell if anything the government should get rid of all physical games because you can choke on the cartridges and cut yourself on the disks.
>>
>>735945537
Companies are currently pushing patches to disable features in games that would have continued functioning normally (and do continue to function normally after you unfuck them).
This is not a problem exclusive to online-only games, this is a problem affecting any game that can't be kept in quarantine.
>>735947340
>Crying to the EU for massive industry intervention because you can't read a label or because your favorite bing bing wahoo series is now online shit is retarded.
It is a necessary addition of obligations to software copyright. Ideally we would just ditch software copyright and come up with entirely new legislation for software IP that reflects the need for maintenance, back-ups, source-code access and modification, but there's really no chance of that.
>>735948176
There is currently very little stopping a company from altering software (or hardware running software) you have bought to reduce functionality other than just never updating, and it doesn't matter if the original game company is shit, because the company can always just be bought by someone who is shit and they can then fuck you over.
>>
>>735947406
They are already aware of vidya gaems. What they're not aware of is the greyzone or downright illegal shit the industry has been getting away with for over a decade now.
>>
>>735948176
>noooo noooooo we shouldn't stop corporations from fucking people in the ass noooooo
Ok kike.
>muh voting with your walle5
Aka apathy, ignoring the problem and letting corpos know that they can keep going because they won't be opposed.
>>
Pirate software won
>>
>>735948423
>and it doesn't matter if the original game company is shit, because the company can always just be bought by someone who is shit and they can then fuck you over
That's fine by me when it comes to nonessential frivolous things like games. Any time you buy a game it's a monetary investment that may or may not pay you back in enjoyment. It's been like that since before videogames even had online.
If you want to intervene on shit like paid-off game journalists that don't disclose they have been paid-off, fine. If you want companies to be more transparent about what they made, fine. But otherwise let companies make shitty shit that sucks and if the consumers truly care about the shit thing, they can walk away from it.
>>
>>735948564
>ignoring the problem and letting corpos know that they can keep going because they won't be opposed
Corpos aren't opposed when I don't buy a thing I don't want because there are other people who DO want the thing.
If I don't want something and no one else does, guess what??? we won't buy it and the corpos are suddenly being opposed.
>>
>>735947406
>lets not try to improve things ever
>lets just keep descending into not owning anything, corporations beings your gods and you not being able to afford anything
>because using the government for what it's actually meant to do is bad
why do retards like this even exist?
>>
>>735948680
Not really.
On one hand, the thing that wouldn't do anything did nothing.

On the other hand, everyone calls him a bullshit artist at best and a ferret fucker at average.
>>
>>735948868
Obviously companies are only looking out for themselves, that is what they do.
The problem is you think the customers can't make their own decisions, so (You) and the fucking government of all people should.
It's not like anyone's life is in danger here, video game companies make some of the most subjective and non-essential products in existence.
So yes, I'm in favor of someone that has actually bothered investing their own money into making a video game to make the video game.
>>
>>735945417
The next deadline something is supposed to happen about this is July 27, 2026

Fucking hell. This nigger is so mentally ill he entered this thread, blindly defending the corporation, while now actually knowing what the fuck is being discussed.
As I said, americans are a disease.
>>
>>735945540
This. EU is worthless. That's why Apple had to install USB-C ports in their iPhones and why every tech giant has a legal obligation to delete all your personal data upon request. All out of goodness of corporate heart, the EU did nothing
>>
>>735945537
Thats right to repair, a different iniative.
>>
You vill make sure your game has preservation in mind before actually developing it. You vill make your copyrighted and registered source code and server technology that you developed available to the public.
>>
>>735946025
Megacoprs need their izzat saved for free
>>
>>735948696
good morning sir
The underlying issue is that corpo is getting away with wilfully destroying or outright taking away a product that was paid for without any recompensation. No other industry gets away with this, because it's illegal. Publishers are getting away with it because the planned obsolence wasn't a part of gamings formative years and it's high time the industry at large gets revisited to ensure they're obeying the law.
>>
>>735945417
Gamers are more entitled than feminists

>>735949364
>>the game is objectively shit

It doesn't have to be good because good is an opinion. Something being shit doesn't mean you don't have rights.

>>735950159
Faggot
>>
>>735946476
From a preservation standpoint it would be good but from a fraud standpoint they did their part and gave refunds so you aren't defrauded.
>>
>>735946476
Reminder - some people actually made servers running for Concord after it was dead
>>
>>735948868
It's indians getting paid to be retarded because they'll work for literal shit and India is already a 3rd world shithole so it's not going to affect them even if their pro-corpo astroturfing had any effect.
>>
I hope this is Thor doing this every month, I don't think I could live with the thought that some random dumbass thinks an initiative like this produces results overnight
>>
>NOOOO YOU AREN'T SUPPOSED TO DEFY OUR CORPORATE OVERLORDS THROUGH LEGAL MEANS, THAT'S WHAT THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO DO!

Paid valve shill posters feel their income threatened.
>>
>>735951218
>valve
what?
>>
>>735951218
Valve doesn't need shills, they somehow manage to win by doing fucking nothing every time. Anyone you see that you think is a shill is just someone tricking you.
In other words: Stop falling for retards on /v/, dumbass.
