>Common EU - W
EU forced companies to create their devices with easy to replace batteries (no fancy screws, no glue, no special tools)
>EU Exclusive
Why not global? Last time when Apple was forced to adopt USB C, all their devices got it, globally.
>>
initially it will be EU only as a test run and then when they do the OLED revision it will roll out globally
>>
>>735954340
what the fuck?
I already have mine I don't want them to make a "better" one fuck you
>>
>>735954340
To Floyd Amerifats like >>735954525
>>
Imagine it's hotswappable. I bet ""people"" would import it
>>
>Governments stepping in as co-designers of private companies is a good thing.
You clearly don't hate the EU enough.
>>
>>735954340
who is nekkei
>>
>>735954979
>consumer-friendly electronics are bad because uhh muh communism!
Why are Americans so subservient to billionaires to the point of willingly suffering for them?
>>
what are the chances of it being same price as default model
>>
>>735954340
my only regret is they always add extra plastic to separate the battery from the guts, which is a fucking waste
>>
>>735954525
When's the last time a game console didn't have a better revision halfway through its lifespan? You knew the risks of buying something in its release year.
>>
>>735954340
The EU is basically communist with how they force companies to abide by their own rules
>>
Fairly sure the only difference is the battery being replaceable in case of it ever swelling up
>>
>cheaper switch jp only
>repair friendly switch eu only
god bless america, we actually care about companies
>>
>>735958150
If it's very easy to replace you could also use 2nd battery instead of charging your Snitch with power bank.
>>
>>735954979
The government represents me. The giant corpos do not. Why wouldn't I side with the government?
>>
>>735954525
somebody remind him of revision models that has happened in basically every generation of consoles and handhelds
>>
>>735954979
Ask me how I know you don’t have your foreskin.
>>
>>735958086
Huh? Just adapt to other cultures. The US recently banned a lot of routers or won't let china export any random phone. We don't accept your Red 40 here, you won't accept our Kinder Surprise.

Easy to replace battery, omg how bad. Adapt or you won't sell your shit in the EU. Shrimple as that.
>>
>>735958394
>The government represents me
Lmao. Both of them hate you and want you dead. The government just pulls shit like this occasionally so you think they're the good guys.
>>
>>735958086
Good thing you won’t be getting this model in that case. Enjoy when it eventually bulges though lmao
>>
>>735958595
>Both of them hate you and want you dead.
This isn’t common outside the third world and you’re projecting if only to keep yourself from escaping your cage. Bread taste better than key and all.
>>
>>735954340
If is it illegal to sell non-replaceable batteries, why where they allowed to in the first place?
>>
>>735959031
The law is like 20 years behind technology.
>>
>>735959031
Anon, the law is not retroactive. It will take effect in 2027.
>>
>>735954979
>clearly don’t
this is what being rules by pedos does to a man
>>
>>735958019
Steam deck, oled model just changed the screen not the internals, and Xbox series
>>
>>735954525
first time buying nintendo eh
>>
>>735954340
I voted for this.
>>
>>735954525
Its not a better one. Its justba different internal mold to hold the battery without glue.
>>
>>735954979
Governments telling companies to stop fucking over consumers is a good thing. Go lick lead paint, you faggot.
>>
>>735954340
hey mutts here's a deal (shart of the deal as you call it)
>you get access to the second biggest market in the world with people who can actually afford your low quality mutt shit

These "journalists" are the scum of the earth. Notice the pic chosen for the article, a dusty, opened, ripped in some places console that looks difficult if you don't know what you are looking at. An extra tube just to give the feeling of "something extra needed to be bought". That battery with the ripped foam and that dangling cable.
Everything to portray this as something complicated, risky, potentially dangerous, thrown on the customer to figure it out. It will probably be as easy to swap as any phone back in the day. But these zoomers were so much time without any gadget that allowed batteries to be swapped, pulling out the back and swapping the square will probably make them go insane.
I am reminded daily how much I loathe and hate journalists, fucking hell I despise the living shit out of you all.

My first cell phone, my first flip phone, and my first smartphone all had a battery door held in by a plastic clip. No screwdrivers, spudgers, or any other tool required. No dangling cable needing to be slotted into a special socket. The Switch 1 and 2 are already more complicated than any phone back in my day.

Windows 10/11 but I guess your retort will be you did the thing 99.9999% of the userbase are too technically shit to even attempt.
It did, maybe not anymore, force a restart to install an update even if you were mid-game if it had scheduled it run at that time.
There was time you couldn't even restart or shut down without ALSO installing the updates.

If you're not "forced" it will bug you to do it at least daily.
>>
>>735963267
No, it costs the same. It's a replacement for the current model. But nice try.
>>
>>735963330
>Windows 10/11
I never had to update?
>the thing 99.9999% of the userbase are too technically shit to even attempt.
Which is...?
I just disabled automatic updates in settings. Do it on my consoles too.

>There was time you couldn't even restart or shut down without ALSO installing the updates.
When?

Their body, their choice bigot!
>>
>>735963496
Correct.
It's not an optional upgrade, the law forced them to do it, hence it would be illegal to offload the production costs onto the customers.
Lrn 2 Law.
>>
>>735963496
the battery will just be smaller and have lower mAh.
>>
>>735963396
There still isn't an option to fully "disable automatic updates" in Windows 10/11 in any of the normal menus. You can just "pause" for a set time. It's just more lenient when you choose to restart nowadays. Screenshot it if you claim otherwise.

>Which is?
Disabling updates through group policys or modifying the registry and ways other than using the normal system menu

>When?
The first several years of its existence.
>>
>>735963747
I didn't modify the reg data and I havent been forced to update ever.

Want to prove your claims true now? The burden of proof still rests with you for all of your claims so far.
>>
>>735961127
Go on and buy a Nintendo handheld with a replaceable battery on the free market then, faggot cocksucker. Go choke on a dick you statist cunt.
>>
>>735963496
Phone manufacturers were claiming that the case and battery need to glued for water resistance. I highly doubt that Switch is water resistant.
>>
>>735963703
Nintendo may do it out of spite, but then making a product worse will decrease sales. We are talking about consumer electronics, where it's the vendor who has to convince the customer to buy an otherwise useless product.
>>
>>735954576
Doesn't even need hotswaping, at this point I'd refuse to buy any unit that doesn't have a changeable battery
>>
>>735963849
I'm supposed to prove YOU haven't been forced update? While you say you have simply flipped a switch that disabled it which doesn't exist and refuse to post a simple screenshot of it? You want me to post a screenshot of it not existing?
You got burden of proof backwards.
>>
>>735961127
Your freedom to change the battery ends where Nintendo's freedom to earn shekels starts.

Are you retarded? It was clear that at the very least an OLED model was coming down the pipes. You’re retard so consider this the retard tax. And don’t you fucking dare blame Nintendo for your own obliviousness like the average 50 IQ scat fetishist on this board. Every Nintendo handheld has received an upgraded variant within its lifespan, sometimes more than one.

>>
>>735958019
>When's the last time a game console didn't have a better revision halfway through its lifespan?
Believe it or not, release PS5 has a way larger heatsink compared to subsequent models. The fear was it overheating so they over engineered the cooling system. The next PS5 model released had 35% of its heatsink removed to save money on mass production
>>
>>735964787

Literally every Steam game has forced updates you disingenuous retard.

>>
>>735958019

It hasn't even been a year. Revisions this drastic tend to be reserved for the middle of the systems life. You can't just pretend like this is normal. Last time they changed something was because of a tegra exploit.

Nintendo makes more money forcing you to buy a new Switch 2 over making the batteries replaceable. Why throw away money when your audience will happily spend $600 for a battery replacement from you?
>>
>>735966414
Considering what's happening to every other console and PC on the market, the OLED Switch 2 is probably going to cost $600. Can't really call that a "waitchad" victory
>>
>>735973721
switch 2 batteries can be bought for less than 40 bucks and unless you're a gen z cuck replacing it is super easy
>>
>>735974030
I wouldn't call replacing it super easy. You have to disconnect a lot more shit compared to the Switch 1, not to mention blow dry a fucking sticker to get it off. It's pretty time consuming for what should be quick and easy.
