So yes the world of XC3 is basically anime Fortnite. However if soldiers have children, those children will be born free of the cycle. And this is what Shania is. So what's Shania's problem? Well Shania is a part of a noble house within The City, a refuge for people not attached to the cycle. Shania feels pressured by her bitch mother to be special and so she tries to become Ouroboros, a collection of people with a special power to fight the cult of psychos propagating this endless war. But the Amazon delivery driver got caught mid transport and instead that power went to the MCs. So she spends the game seething that she can't be special so since she can't fight the psychos, she'll join the psychos. Her logic being that she's upset that she can't live up to her family's expectations and that if she's subpar then it's better if she can just reroll and try again. So she voluntarily puts herself in the cycle and then joins the psychos completely. Before dying regretting that she didn't just become an artist or something.
