I think, based on every single major overhaul and patch, that Valve knows the goal of the game, destroy the enemy ancie- Patron, but isn't quite sure how they want us to get there. What should be the most broken parts, what's too unfun to deal with, etc. I agree that we got our hands on the game too early, but I think it's been valuable for Valve because what they were making seems to have changed considerably since the alpha leaked. Not just in the removed a lane way, but the way we actually take fights and objectives feel like it's shifting little by little. They understand how they want the macro game to work, but they're still ironing out the micro. The new heroes and balance around how they interact is them fucking with the micro trying to find a fun meta to work off of for a bit.I mean the Old Gods New Blood update was not only a visual redesign, but completely changed how you take the Patron from a strategical standpoint. The game's competitive aspects aren't done because Valve still isn't 100% sure how we're supposed to win the game.
