Anyone else literally incapable of not using this thing in turn based JRPGs like me.
even though I grew up playing old FF games, trying to play them now, yeah I pretty much always turbo mode through random encounters
>>735998837why not just run from random encounters
>>735998297no, i consider it cheating. currently playing through a pokemon romhack without speedup
>>735999058Why wouldnt you speed up running away? Its the same ammount of time as 1shoting dungeon mobs before the 3 different ending slideshows
>spend your free time playing game>use cheats so you spend less time playing the game????
Yes, but I prefer when it's built in.Astounds me that most devs implement it, let alone trivial shit like TEXT SPEED settings.
i only used this on f2p games for grinding mobs. you should never use the new version as it has spyware, unless you dont mind
>>735999479You actually spend more time playing the game and pess time warching it play itself.
>>735998297I don't use turbo because slow fights disincentivize grinding so I have much more fun and challenging experience. turbo for me only creates sped up boredom.
>>735999836>slow fights disincentivize grinding???
I vaguely remember Cheat Engine getting pozzed awhile ago (or am I remembering wrong?)What version should I be using?
>>735999548you actually spend less time playing the game anon
>>735998297I don't use it on every RPG but Pokemon is unplayable without some sort of speed up.
>>735999897just use wand insteadthe trainer community got sick of cheat engine's bullshit
>>735999862nta but spending 1 minute grinding is more appealing than spending 3 minutes grinding for the equivalent reward. making busywork less busy is cheating, you're better off playing the game properly for a more satisfying experience
>>735998297the grinding in an rpg is a difficulty sliderif you're making encounters faster so you can get more exp per minute, you've turned it from "Easy" to "Story Mode" difficulty
>>735999862yeah. if fights take long and you wanna play for the story you wont do extra combat. thus you wont be over leveled.
>>736000000>736M get wasted on guy who has never played any jrpgs with actual combat
>>735999479higher concentration of fun parts, lower concentration of boring filler parts, gaming is about fun so this is a net positive
>>736000056grinding being a requirement went out of style by like 1987you're the one that hasn't played shit
>>735998297I have never downloaded cheat engine in my life, I also do not play JRPGs anymore as I do not believe they qualify as video games.
>>736000000checked and true>>736000056actual combat means actual strategy that allows you beat difficult encounters with skill rather than overleveled attacks
>>736000000What does OP's image have to do with grinding?
>>735998297why even "play" them?Just watch a playthrough at that point. You aren't overcoming any challenges, you just want an interactive movie.
>>736000770the cheating?
>>736000926Huh? It's just a speedhack.
>>736000770>fight 1 million battles in 1 nanosecondI just play for the story tee hee
>>736000984mm.
>>735998297why are adhd zoomers like that>>735999412based
>>736001049Which has nothing to do with cheating...
>>736000167People with a brain can just not level grind even with sped up battles.
>>736001209lets say you're in a jrpg dungeon and want to head back town to save and resupply. with turbo thats a non issue since it takes no time to do. so you can do that kind of back and forth multiple times with no downsides. and all the extra battles from those trips grind your level up. turbo fucks up the time economy on fundamental level.
>>735999412>romhack>not cheatingYou didn't beat the game.
>if you don't sit through these 16 second long random battle transitions you're a zoomer!!!https://youtu.be/gks4QWrLo6w?t=5053
>>736001801>less than 1 second of gameplay>2 minutes of bullshit
>>736001842>where is the ball>where is the gun
>>735998297I use it for 4x gaymes to go 16x
>>736001735Jesus Christ this is the most retarded reasoning I've ever seen.
>>735998297>cheat engineenjoy your crypto miner
>>736001983dungeons were a mistake
>>736001735>with no downsidesThe downsides are that you're still wasting time running out of a dungeon, and you're apparently level grinding. Somehow we're pretending it's impossible to go from point A to point B in an RPG without gaining experience. In that case, you still wouldn't want to spend any longer than necessary in one area because that just means more battles.
I only use real hardware and FPGA, no speedups here.
>>735998297When emulating I always bind a hotkey (or trigger button) for it, usually 300% or 500% speed. It lets you skip loading screens and long combat animations ubiquitous in old JRPGs. It's hard to go without once you've gotten used to it.>>736001735>turbo fucks up the time economy on fundamental level.Sorry but the only "time economy" I care about is my time on this Earth. It's what employers pay me for.
I don't even use savestates on nso games, fucking zoomer trash are such faggots holy shit
>>736002747you see the same defense of save states too. "It just saves time, I already made it to the boss once"
>>736002801
>>736002747>he derives his self-worth from beating games
>>736001801native hardware issueyou can improve load times with emulators without speed changes
>>736003182That looks comfy
Nobody has ever believed me, but ~10 years ago I got VAC banned from Dota because I was running cheat engine at the same time to add gravelord phantoms to Dark Souls. My fault? Yes. But I am NOT a cheater!
>>736000000
>>736000770are you stupid?
>>735998297Any turn-based game that makes you feel like you need a speed toggle is a failure of a game.
>>735998297Is it just me or everything feels deliberately slow to pad out time?
>>736007489they are. These fucking jrpgs are ridiculous. The pic from OP is from Fantasian. I played it because Uematsu did the score. These people have no concept of time at all. I am too old for jrpgs I think.
>>736000868>waiting for dozen of different menus and animations to pop up and finish while you mash X is a challengeNo anon, you're the one who's challenged.
>>736007869>mashplay better games if yours can be mashed through
>>736004931pokemon sure is a miracle then
>ITT a bunch of zoomers and casuals who should go back to R*ddit
>>735998297Nope cause my brain hasn't rotted. Learn to slow down. It's not like the time you lost watching animations in a turn-based was going to go somewhere more important than another video game.
>>736007913If your game's random trash encounters CAN'T be mashed through it's not worth the time playing.
>>736008102this. every moment is valuable.
