>bro hollow knight is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOD BRO I love those games>check steam cheevosso the fuck do people praise these games so much?
so you can't like a game unless enough people get achievements? well whatever floats your boat
>>736017309more like people only parrot opinions when most of them can't even finish the game
>>736017397have you considered that maybe people who got it from some bundle for pennies and didn't bother with it don't go around internet saying it's great game?maybe it's people who liked the game
>>736017175Are these people in the room with us?
>>736017175Given the number of copies HK sold, your image shows that millions of people 100%ed the game.
>>736017476who the fuck got silksong in a bundle?>>736017584actually yes. they are all over /v/ even though huge majority of them probably didn't even complete the game at all.>>736017821and it shows that even more didn't even bother completing it at all. but some how this was the second coming of Christ in indie game form.
>>736017973I'm sure you're just seeing things and this isn't a conspiracy against you
>>736017175These completion percentages are pretty high actually, most games of this length have like 10% completion for the basic ending
>>736018067by how that shit is praised everywhere I would have though it was at least around 50%
>>736018260overwhelming majority of steam games have way less. What games do you know with remarkably more that are nearly as long?HK unironically has much higher player retention than most games. And thats also considering its cheap as fuck so theres a lot more people who grab it without intention of immediatelly commiting themselves to it
HK was really fun beginning to end but Skong is just fucking arduous to me, I'm not sure exactly why
>>736018260Show me any game where at least 50% of players have the "beat the game" achivement.
i have a friend who has talked about nothing but hollow knight for several years whenever the topic of video games has come up. he espouses it as the greatest video game ever made, team cherry are visionaries, etc etc.to this day he has not beat the radiance, and hasnt even bought silksong (despite constantly talking about how amazing silksong was going to be prior to its launch, and how amazing it was after it came out). he considers himself a huge fan of these games, despite barely playing them and instead watching streamers play them and parroting their opinions
I'm not good enough to do speeruns and steelsoul modes (permadeath) so I skip them but I at least try to get as much as possible from a game, including HK and SS... other than those in HK I don't have the 2 DLC endings which I'm still trying to clear... In my case it's skill issue...
>>736018546I don't think high of you either if you consider that a friend
>>736017175Asturfed franchise
>>736018427easy
My favorite bidya, cheevo %'s, steam charts, metacritic user scores and twitter screenshots.
>>736018692I don't know what that is and it doesn't say "you beat the game". Can you prove that achivement means you beat the game too? Thanks bro.
>>736018765case of the golden idolhttps://the-case-of-the-golden-idol.fandom.com/wiki/The_Case_of_the_Golden_Idol#Chapters
>>736017175The majority of people do not play the games they buy on any platform to completion. This is not news.Silk Song has 38.9% finishing the game with 65.3% of people reaching Widow (a good estimate of 'real players') which puts it far above average in this respect.>>736018427Portal is at a whopping 52%.
>>736018858Which part of this proves you right?>>736018882>>736018909Much better examples, thanks.
>>736018965"the slight delay in the peaceful march to the king's castle" is the final case besides the epilogue
Hollow Knight's a long game for the genre it's not that surprising the completion rate is on the low sideThere's also zero interesting new shit to do when you're backtracking through the center of the map too so that doesn't help
>>736018635ive known him since we were like 5 and theres plenty of other stuff we have in common outside of vidya
>jumped from an old game you could have gotten in indie game bundles to newer puzzle gamesI have no idea what kind of illness the op has
>>736017175Hollow Knight is a 40-60 hour game. Silksong is at least as long, if not longer. In both cases, those are good completion rates
>>736018882>>736018909>>736018925>>736018963posting the name of the games would help.
>>736017397I pirated it and I shill for it nonstop. Stay mad
>>736019450I am not the one posting the game examples. but please go ahead still getting mad at it.
>>736019917Chants of SennaarRise of the Golden IdolThe Roottrees are DeadSlay the Princess>>736019450Bro, the goalposts? Where are you taking the goalposts?
>>736017175What exactly is your point?Besides farming >(you)s
>>736019969>>736020016I am getting mad trying to understand the motives here. What goalpost was there at the beginning? OP started out with a retarded screech.
>>736020080>>736018427
>>736020016Games like Slay the Princess take a few hours to explore all VN paths. How is that comparable to Hollow Knight?
>>736020019my point is that this game is fucking astroturffed to hell and most people talking about it on /v/ are fucking posers.
>>736017175furries and people who never played a vania before
>>736019917it's all short as fuck, easy games that can be beat in 2 hours, he's dishonest as fuck, as usual with vtards
>>736020115I still don't understand. You found counter examples to a follow up separate claim. Does that mean no one actually liked Hollow Knight after all and it's all a scam?
>>736020016Now post actual games with actual gameplay and challenge and not trannytroon vn and walking simulator puzzles games
>>736020137and you think the shitty 3 hour puzzle games you posted are not astroturfed? people spent more time on hollow knight silksong getting those achievements than you did in those shitty vn/puzzle games combined
>>736020137>first time interacting with normalfags that dont play games>or just being a ragebaiting retard as usualits hard choice on this 50/50
>>736017175Why do people still pretend that steam achievement stats work?>woah 70% of people that launched the game didn't play 5 minutes!!! Amazing! That shit isn't true and it shows how gullible people are about data.
>>736020357>and you think the shitty 3 hour puzzle games you posted are not astroturfed?I am not the one posting these stupid ass gay puzzle games you mongoloid, holly shit.
>>736020439It is pretty common to launch a new game, run around to make sure all the graphics settings work on your PC, and then leave it for a very long time as you play the stuff you already were playing.
>>736020137And you base this on what exactly?
Fotm
>>736017175you don't need to beat a game to know if it's good
>>736021012If it's so good then why not finish it?Checkmate.
>>736017175Average completion rate (end credits) for most games on Steam is around 25% going by achievements. So 38% is actually really quite high. Expedition 33 has a similar figure.
>>736020937More like flavour of the decade
>>736020530Not that common. You can't tell me half of people buying a game are doing this.I think its more likely it just can't pull from private profiles and that fucks up the data somehow.
>>736021076i got distracted by other good games
>>736021076Low attention span
