Fortnite sucks.
>>
Fortnite is a product of woke. it's for infantile retards. glad its being killed
>>
>>736020286
I find it strange that they didn't hop on the extraction trend, like they did with battle royale back in the day.

I'm not your bro, pal

It's impressive how they're doing this right when the game basically has fallen off a cliff in terms of play count. Their player base has aged out and moved on. Nothing lasts forever. Did you really think you'd get ten, twenty, thirty years out of marketing one video game? That kids would play it, grow up, and pass on their accounts to their kids? No seriously that's what Tim believed would happen. He didn't even conceive of anything but milking Fortnite until he died. This has to be devastating to him

he's deeply invested in the metaverse bullshit. He's even making a new programming language for the metaverse called Verse
>>
>>736021372
He was doing that shit despite clearly being a fad but "lets make Fortnite 2" never even crossed his mind. He almost got there by making a Roblox mode but completely missed why people like Roblox

>Their player base has aged out and moved on. Nothing lasts forever
you can get some dedicated autistic fags like 2006-2012 robloxfags who still hold on despite the fact old roblox is long dead and cancer replaced it

Epic probably shouldn’t have placed all their eggs in the fortnite basket. When you own the most used game engine but 80% of your revenue stream is from one game instead, your finances are fucked if that game goes down.

there's already a fortnite thread, check the catalog first.

>The cost of running Fortnite has gone up a lot
>Now excuse us while we fi-- I mean... "lay off" half of Fortnite's key developers, designers, etc. immediately after the new season launches
>We're still going to charge you more for less anyway, despite this new and sudden gaping hole in our payroll

I was gonna buy the full vbucks thing again but then they raised the prices. I'm not gonna buy vbucks again. It's virtual currency and it was already overpriced.

Tim thought the "Fortnite Islands" (user created "games") would be Roblox 2, he was even saying that the major game publishers like Take-Two or Sega would not develop standard games in the future but instead transition to developing "games" in Fortnite.
What actually happened of course is that absolutely nobody plays these Fortnite Islands yet Epic does Creator payouts for them. People have just been filling their games with bot farms and collect payments lol.

why are they so stupid and believe shit like this?
>>
>>736020286
What? Did you really think Disney was begging to partner with a decade old game for skins? They invest a lot to be in the headlights

Worked for Mario, Zelda, Call of Duty, Madden, etc...

I dont give a fuck about the game I only care about the porn and it's free

thank god this cancer is finally dying and hopefully it takes the industry with it

Those have dozens of games in them. He wanted generational involvement in an "ecosystem" of one (1) game.

>ROBLOX did it, so clearly if we do it too it'll work
Except that ROBLOX was innovative for it's time and had lightning in a bottle. Fortnite has had a literal decade to do what ROBLOX did but decided to sit on their ass instead wondering what goyslop to integrate into the collab list.
Now, when they're actually trying to do it, there are at least 10 different "ROBLOX"s out there, with different styles, all getting filled with ROBLOX refugees after the company that made it finally started running out of their own farts to huff and started huffing carbon monoxide.
The whole thing about Fortnite becoming too costly is entirely their own fault, because almost all of the money they make gets directly funneled back into the players who make brainrot slopgames, fill them with bots, and collect creator payouts.
Tim Sweeney waited too long to catch the lightning; now it's nothing but a faint spark, and no amount of throwing money into the generator will reverse time itself.
>>
Wasn't the problem with fortnite that they spent literally a billion dollars every year on creator shit that went nowhere?
>>
Tim Epic blew his once-in-a-lifetime wad on frivolous lawsuits and freebies for his Steam "killer" and now anyone still in his ecosystem is being forced to foot the bill. Truly one of the dumbest and unlikeable motherfuckers currently alive.

They probably are, but growing so big post pandemic made them slow af.
