But then after TotK hit 20M by the end of 2023, sales just kind of died. No legs. If a similar situation happened with GTA 6, it would be a disaster. Don't be fooled by Day One, Week One, or even Year One sales data. Look at the trend. Like CCU numbers, there has be to a strong post-launch adoption of GTA 6 for it to break GTA 5's incredibly high records. And make no mistake, GTA 6 MUST beat its predecessor's records. GTA 6 will cost way more to make and support and market than GTA 5 and it is Take-Two's BIGGEST money maker.
