Happy 9th anniversary Blue Reflection! It's been 9 years since the release of the original game in Japan.
One of the trailers of the original. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLRITqfXlCU

safe yuri
>>736032678https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWdd6_ZxX8c>>736032709It's not a yuri game. The sequel is yuri, not the first one.
censored wokeslop
>>736032797Not the original game in Japan though...
Another trailer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FfnOipuEoc
I love BR2 so much its unreal
Gust needs new people to work on the gameplay aspect. Like, they need a complete total overhaul, all their games are dogshit to play.
>>736035103Even the games of 2023-2025?
>>736035103Several of the Atelier games have good gameplay, like Mana Khemia and the Arland entries. A lot of their other games have good mechanics, but are really poorly balanced, like Blue Reflection and Ar tonelico 2. Poor balance is their most consistent weakness when it comes to mechanics for some reason, especially when they aren't iterating on a formula, and addressing that would make a pretty big difference.
>>736035670Especially those.>>736035735I should've specified, but I was talking about modern Gust.
>>736035832Huh, someone who thinks that Atelier Ryza 1, Atelier Firis, Fairy Tail etc feel better to play than Atelier Ryza 3 And Atelier Yumia is rare. I haven't played most games I just mentioned because they don't have English voices, so I can't say much about how Atelier Ryza 3 feels compared to Blue Reflection (the first one).
>>736035832Fair enough. I don't really care for the direction they've taken with the Atelier series, and haven't enjoyed one all that much since Firis.
>>736037984I can tell that the artist tried to draw her chest correctly more or less. They probably look slightly bigger but it could also be that angle and if not, it's a fact that they are only a little bigger than they are. Great art.I've seen a *a lot* of Blue Reflection fan art and it's true that the people who draw Blue Reflection fan art try to make on-model art, for the most part.
>>736032592Fucking lmao I can't believe this shitty image that took me 1 minute to put together in paint will be used by a lot of people to spam the official accounts on Twitter
>>736039921>no wet shirts>no nudityWhat's the point anymore lol
When is the damn sale
>>736040039BR1 and 2 won't go on sale. It's clear they don't want people to buy the game since it's problematic to them
>>736040039Blue Reflection Quartet is coming, I don't think there is going to be one.
>>736040034''Suggestive Themes'' is apparently one of the content descriptors of Blue Reflection Quartet. It has the reflector outfits which still show cleavage and can be considered more or less revaling (some of them)...I guess?
>>736040671Cleavage wow
>>736039921based anon
>>736040903I won't say that it's much but it's...something. If the scenes in the first game are censored, then what else is in the game that can be considered fan service? Their designs as reflectors and those one-piece swimsuits which aren't going to be changed, that's what I understand at least. I couldn't help but notice that this official render/image of Hinako's 3D model as a reflector doesn't show cleavage though. Huh.
If we're talking cleavage then it would be that one Sun girl. I think she was the glasses girl in Ray.
>>736041608Yukoko Takaoka, she appears in only one episode. One could also call her ''the other Yuki'' considering her alias.
>>736042007*Yukiko Takaoka, typo.
>>736041608It will take time for me to get used to new Sun models, if ever.
Xiao Meiqi is pretty stacked, a lot of Blue Reflection characters (speaking in general, not just the first game) are endowed.
>>736042656The replies to that picture on Xitter are as expected.https://x.com/koeitecmoeurope/status/2038526647062954250https://x.com/KoeiTecmoUS/status/2038692829929648340
>>736045668And deserved, I should add.
Attempt at a complete list of Blue Reflection characters that clearly have boobs, so, at least medium or averag breasts, even large breasts depending on the character:-Hinako Shirai-Sanae Nishida-Rin Sanada-Sarasa Morikawa-Mao Ninagawa-Shihori Sugamoto-Chihiro Inoue-Rika Yoshimura-Yuri Saiki-Hiori Hirahara-Mio Hirahara-Ruka Hanari-Momo Tanabe (maybe)-Yukiko Takaoka-Amiru Sumeragi-Ao Hoshizaki-Kokoro Utsubo-Rena Miyauchi-Shiho Kasuga-Xiao Meiqi-Nanaka Azumi-Kanna Hoshiya-Ayami IkomaEveryone else is flat, has small breasts, or is below average at most (Kaori Mitsui apparently, she isn't exactly flat but she's below average). Of course, the characters I mentioned have different hairstyles, hair color etc, and having larger breasts doesn't automatically make a character better or more appealing than ''x'' character, if your favorite character isn't on that long list, there's nothing wrong with that.
>>736049220I can imagine something like this with those two.
>>736045668Yeah, I did see some of those.>>736045854I would be more sympathetic to Gust/K-T if it appeared they had at least attempted to release the game uncensored.
>>736050359It sounds like they censored the game beforehand without taking any risks, otherwise it would have been something like Senran Kagura Burst Re:Newal where it was ''we wanted to release it uncensored, but the platform holder said no so we had to remove/change something. A loto f video game companies have been very transparent when their games run into issues or have to change or remove something in order to release a censored version of a game, I don't think that NDAs are too strict there, but for Blue Refleciton Quartet, they didn't even try I assume.
>>736052589She would enjoy it, regardless if she's who receives the pain or the person who gives the pain...
>>736035103It's called soul.
>>736055059...On fire.
Honestly, one of the most interesting Blue Reflection posts ever. I respect the fact that he bothered to share how one of his experiences might happen and it really sounds like it's different from many other fictional characters or girls, the part of ''almost no other type of a girl does that for me''. It's a wild post but also interesting.Let's be honest, the Blue Reflection girls are special.
>>736039921This is a better comparison of one of the scenes.
>>736059415Why do you keep posting this fucking stretched screen!
>>736059545It's what I had. There's also this one which is better I guess.
That song from Blue Reflection Sun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Ou6AMbB5Ig
>>736062517The dilemma of being the best reflector. Yeah, I just came up with that.
Yukiko Takaoka really is stacked, looking at 2D art, her 3D model both in the dead mobile game and Blue Reflection Quartet is accurate. I wonder what's the context of this scene...?
This art is a classic now. It's been years but it's great.
>>736065663Beautiful art.
Simple art for now.
>>736064809Hinako's game!
>>736032592Why is BRQ censored and swimsuits removed in Takaichi's term while RW reseleri and Ryza DX has reduced censorship after Ishiba's fall? I believed that Takaichi Sanae and Donald Trump fight for freedom of expression and will exterminate DEI and liberate Japanese non gacha game from censorship and return bikinis. But why is censorship being worsened ironically under right wing rules? How did RW resl and Ryza DX got censorship reduced while BRQ got censored and swimsuits removed in Kishiba way? Is Kishida Mel opposing Takaichi while RAWG and Ryza dx's director supports Takaichi?
>>736067498It is. The PS Vita version won't be the only portable version of the game anymore very soon...not counting the possibility to play the Steam version on a Steam Deck...
>>736067784Too bad that it got swimsuits removed while RW resl and Ryza DX had censorship reduced. Why? RW resl and Ryza dx has bikinis intact but why did BRQ got swimsuit removed?
All these threads do now is make me depressed. They went on air and explicitly said they were cucked by 'modern standards'. It's all so over. xitter even started auto-translating JP and EN twitter to each other so now you have people quote-tweeting JP artists with"aaaahhh :skull emoji: diddy blud epstein ass drawing :ishowspeed gif: :skull emoji:It's all over. They can't resist the global bucks, but with the global bucks comes getting cucked.
>>736067754Putting aside that right wing rules aren't necessarily going to result in less censorship of Japanese games of all things, the last part of ''Kishida Mel opposes Takaichi while RAWG and Ryza DX's director supports Takaichi'' sounds kind of crazy or ridiculous if one says it out loud...I know who you are, people call you ''bikinischizo'' and I'd rather not use that term or even the word ''schizo'' to describe someone with an obsession or a simple recurrent poster, all I'm going to say is...it's a mess, this whole thing is complicated and the censorship that affected Blue Reflection as part of Blue Reflection Quartet may indeed be just the result of ''new trends and standards that are changing'' but if that's really the reason and not pressure/fear of the platform holders or if Koei Tecmo could have published the first game uncensored (which I doubt) without issues, new standards or not...we'll never know maybe...
>>736068015"Modern standard" when leftist rule is over? And Takaichi and Trump's right wing ruIling? I believed that Takaichi Sanae and Donald Trump fight for freedom of expression and will exterminate DEI and liberate Japanese non gacha game from censorship and return bikinis. Why cannot voting for right wing leaders fix the censorship and return bikinis? I believed Gust is sticking to Takaichi side when RW reseleri and Ryza DX has censorship reduced after Ishiba's fall.. why cannot devs unite under Takaichi's banner?
>>736068089Was I wrong to believe Sanae to normalize Japanese non gachas by liberating them from censorship and return bikinis? I thought Takaichi fights for freedom of expression. Can Takaichi/Trump supporters censor too?
>>736068089But RAWG and Ryza DX has reduced censorship, which were right after Ishiba's fall... but why isn't BRQ and removed swimsuits as well?
Bro you need help, Japanese politics have nothing to do with this
>>736068171Man, I don't care if you wanna be a weird faggot, but at least use an AI to properly translate from whatever your native language is to English first when you post. Your writing style is an eyesore.
>>736068387So, was "no Japanese non-gachas were censored when Abe Shinzo was PM" and "Kishida Fumiko started censorship in 2022" wrong? I thought Takaichi and Trump will liberate Japanese non gachas from censorship and return bikinis. Were they actually DEI side too?
>>736068265Yeah, I guess you were wrong to believe that...
>>736068483Was I wrong to shoult "for freedom of expression, En taro Takaichi" wrong?
>>736068474>>736068542Yes retard, Takaichi never said anything about DEI or censorship of media you fucking retarded Indonesian
>>736068015No matter what is censored or not, we still have listings of the original game for now, it may be delisted in the future but for now, one can still get the original game digitally...also, physical copies, which I have.
>>736068621Also was Trump not fighting for freedom of expression either?
>>736068902Republicans love censorship
>>736068948Are there Karens on right wing side too?
>>736060631>this will surely attract our NEW modern audiences!
>>736068948Not bikinifag but /v/ and twitter (where /v/ gets all their world views from now) was filled with people saying the end of 2024 = le dawn of new ecchi, comeback of Senran etc.Yeah we got it back all right, look at this Blue Reflection mess, or this fucking trash fire. >>>736035703
I ranked my top 25 tracks from the Blue Reflection games for my own amusement while listening to the soundtracks, and put the list on an ugly background that make it less readable because that's how I roll. I ended up with 19 tracks from BR1, and 6 from BR2. I'm combining highly similar tracks into the same entry, e.g. I(Sun)/(Cloud)/(Rain).
>>736069184Modern audience when Leftist regime has fallen and Right wing is rulling? Is Kishida Mel opposing Takaichi? When Takaichi is exterminating DEI, liberating Japanese console game and returning bikinis? Why cannot Takaichi and Trump stop such censorship when they fight for freedom of expression? I believed that bikinis are back to Japanese non gachas as RAWG and Ryza DX having reduced censorship... but was this to decieve netouyos?
>>736069367I thought Takaichi's inauguration is return of bikinis and ecchi to Japanese non gachas as it opened the new era of Japan, but was Kishida Mel opposing Takaichi, considering RAWG and Ryza DX having censorship reduced? Why do right wing lords always betray us?
>>736069184That may have been the reasoning.>>736069450Nice! I love many of those tracks...or all of them maybe.
>>736069367Why do right wing lords always betray us when they are expected to be liberators who fight for freedom of expression? Was Trump just another Arcturus Mengsk?
>>736069721Modern audience when Takaichi and Trump are leaders? Aren't they exterminating DEI? Why does Kishida Mel still think it is Kishida/Ishiba and Biden's term? Is Kishida Mel Kishida Fumiko's relative?
Didn't Takaichi fuck up Japan's visa system and let a bunch of Indians in or something? Why would you place your hopes in the hands of rightoids or online grifters who probably think you are a pedo anyway?
>>736069721Why are they not changing the mindset into Takaichi term and still stuck in Kishida/Ishiba term mindset, when feminists were PMs and censoring media everywhere aside from gacha and pachinko? Why cannot they set their mind into Takaichi and Trump term? Are they still thinking that Ishiba is PM, and Biden is US president?
How is this guy not banned? This is only slightly more tolerable than someone thread-dumping gore
>>736069886Nope. They made visa cut higher, and having insurance pay delayed would be resulted in being kicked away, and made perma residence and citizenship hard to get. And Sanseito said 10% is fine too.
>>736069754>arcturus mengskHoly shit ow my fucking sides i fucjing love this
>>736069796>>736069938No, they aren't really exterminatong DEI or whatever. Again, right wings politicians in power isn't necessarily going to result in Japanese games without censorship, the truth is, the situation is as bad if right wing people are in power or even worse compared to left wing people...
>>736070072Cuz Kishida, Ishiba and Biden were literally Arcturus mengsk who censor anime and Japanese non gachas. So I thought Takaichi and Trump will liberate anime and Japanese non gacha from censorship as they fight for freedom of expression.
>>736070098Are modern audiences beyond Trump's power? I heard that Trump will normalize payment processor at last which would have hope on Sky 2nd and P4R to have bikinis.
For fanservice, there's also the upcoming versions of Digimon Story Time Stranger. I'm sure they'll be uncensored compared to the versions released last year.
>>736070694Huh? How did Bamco allowed it to have bikinis for player type B and JK unlike BRQ? I thought Bamco bans bikinis from non gacha and Gakumas.
>>736070694Will Kyoto Xanadu have fanservices?
>>736071179Yes
Is there any other pantsuge as intense as BR?
>>736071435RW reseleri on Sophie and Lotte. But why did BRQ censored and swimsuits removed when RAWG and Ryza dx reduced censorship as they were after Ishiba's fall?
>>736071419Is Sena Senpai hag? She cannot drink alcohol anyway.
>>736070072
>>736069972Bikinischizo is a glowie.
>>736072890Remade it in Kishida Fumiko ver as Ishiba's rule couldn't last even 1 year while Kishida's rule lasted 4 years, which is higher than average Jap PMs(2 years) term. How did this feminist scum ruled longer?
>>736073268And with SDGs pin on Kishida and feminist henchmen.
My condolences over the news and your thread's quality tanking, BRfags.Maybe I'll get a steam key of 1 and 2, i thought 2's gameplay was ok from that demo some years back.
>>736073268>>736073435Nice.>>736073534Things could certainly be better, but so it goes.If you do decide to give BR2 a try at some point, you might consider downloading some system data from Barrel Wisdom to unlock the two higher difficulties. The mechanics are pretty fun, but the highest difficulty choice that's available by default is incredibly easy. The higher difficulty settings are normally locked until you clear the game once for some reason.
>>736074001Would Kishida Mel be a relative to Kishida Fumiko? It would explain outdated censorship on Takaichi's term...
>>736074001Fuck Kishida Mel, considering RW resl and Ryza DX having reduced censorship....
>>736073534The censorship isn't a big deal to me but that's mostly because I have the first game physically.
>>736077072It is
>>736032592So are the owners of the first 2 original games going to get the upgraded ones for a discount? Probably not right?
>>736077114I won't deny that, a lot of things will be changed or removed but at least I can say for sure that the censorship is easier to accept if you have played the first game and if you have a digital but especially physical copy. I wouldn't blame anyone for not wanting to play Blue Reflection Quartet because of the censorship though.
>>736077940They haven't said anything, so probably not.
Maybe it was discussed in one of previous threads, but so far 99% of time people only talked about visual censorship (specifically BR1), and last 1% about possible age-related changes. But apparently there might be more, according to one of articles on Noisy Pixels. Specifically, if I get it right, some scenes where you are given a choice are going to be altered or even removed, which probably affects both games.
>>736079969>Some scenes have also been adjusted to better align with current standards, and select elements have been reworked. For example, interactions that previously rewarded more suggestive dialogue choices with gameplay benefits have been modified to remove those bonuses, and the presentation of certain scenes has been altered.I haven't played the first game but in SL every pair of dialogue options in dates rewarded you with a different equippable Fragment. To me that made it bearable grinding the dates again on the second playthrough for the different dialogue. I don't recall anything questionable either, it was all light teasing between girls. They're being overzealous and yet they still won't remove the one thing I wanted them to remove i.e. the faggot in Sun.
Damn, I thought bikinischizo had fucked off.>>736069972Mods don't give a shit.
>>736080143Haven't touch SL for 3 years or so but I think it had a few scenes or choices which, while really mild, might be taken bad by those sensitive people. But anyway, the point is that BRQ censorship is likely even worse than it is discussed.
I'd like to remind people that there were four unused songs from the first game that were released on a Japan-only bonus disc.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1UNOCRbp7Uhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQyC14XDrMkhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxVXd2X2DOAhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1z_PJdjblZw
>>736032592I buyeted the games years ago, I may just wait for the new versions right? Do they add characters?
>>736070098New minister is literally half yid and already targetting anime. These shitters gonna ruin everything
>>736069972Bikinischizo is literally a tendie
>>736082059In Second Light but only to battles, they're not acknowledged in the story.
I've had this game installed, intending to play it 'soon', for at least 5 years now.
>>736082265Oh so like gachas then, anyway it's not too expensive so I will wait for this version instead
>>736077940Boy, it'd be cool if KT could somehow track my PS4 copies of these games to give me a discount, neither of which were purchased used.
>>736080601Yes...
>>736081087I've heard those songs multiple times. Amazing stuff.
>>736079969Until we get side-by-side comparisons it's hard to say too much. I don't remember any really suggestive dialogue/choices that would be obvious targets but it would definitely be mostly in the second game if so. The first game sometimes had if you picked a wrong option you wouldn't get a Fragment. You would always get something in the second game regardless of your choice.>>736080143I know the title of the Fragment changed depending on the option you chose but did the effect change too? I can't remember if I checked before.
>>736087045>I don't remember any really suggestive dialogue/choices that would be obvious targetsUnderwear swapping, dude.
>>736087337Yeah, I was going to write "(besides Shihori)".
>>736087045Good post. The effect of the fragment you get after many conversations in the sequel can be a little different, yes.>>736087337Multiple choices that involve Shihori, not just that one during the first interaction.
>>736068440That’s just bikini schizo. He’s some mind broken bugman who barges into JRPG threads to screech about politics. Don’t pay attention to him, he’s just retarded.
>>736082394I'm sure other people can relate.
>Censor the first game so it doesn't get a rating change>They believe that doing it this way by some miracle somehow they'll grab the normalfag audience attention (lol)>Nobody ends up buying the game now in the endWhat is this business strategy called exactly?
Finally some BR art on my xitter, and it's of two girls I'd sniff the panties of. I hope I get more cute Hinakos, Limes, Sarasas, Yuris, Akos, Chihiros and Shihoris
>>736087045That's part of the reason why I mentioned it. Unlike censorship of how characters look (which is relatively easy to spot), implied text and scene changes might be not obvious on the first glance. Some players might say "oh, it's only towels added, it's okay" or something along the line, and not realize being robbed of other game aspects as well.I hope I just misread the article or overreact.
>>736087045That's a copout mel and you know it.
>>736032793>It's not a yuri game>only girls in screendude
>>736090938Yes, a game can only have female characters on screen or only male background characters at most, that doesn't mean it's inherentlty a yuri game.Giving another example, The Legend of Dark Witch and its sequels aren't yuri games, they only have female characters but the games don't have yuri or LGBT undertones and that's fine.
>>736071435Well, if you mean games that show the underwear of its female characters and especially if the game has variety, Blue Reflection has some competition. Gust bothered to give each girl unique underwear and unlike other games (Neptunia, for the most part), in Blue Reflection both the bras and panties of the characters are shown in multiple scenes that are mostly optional. Not even counting the Gal*Gun games, there's also Omega Quintet and School Girl Zombie Hunter for example, very different games compared to the first Blue Reflection (especially School Girl Zombie Hunter) where the underwear that the characters wear by default is also unique in design and/or color, the underwear in those games looks less detailed or high-res compared to Blue Reflection though, especially in Omega Quintet, a game with graphics that were kind of bad even for its time in 2014 and 2015. Heh, this detailed reply was unnecessary but yeah, ''pantsuge'', I've seen that term before at least once but Blue Reflection isn't the only one. Of course, ''does Blue Reflection have better underwear designs than School Girl Zombie Hunter or Omega Quintet?'' is another question or story, it'll depend on who you ask...I may post something from one of those games later as proof or an example.
>>736091145>The Legend of Dark WitchThat's pretty yuri to me and I love it.
>>736032797the Vita version I'm playing has a nude mod recommend
>>736092757All these intricate designs will go away with quartet. Sad.
>>736093887It's not a yuri series in the slightest but okay.
>>736089315They're profoundly retarded, look at how they're handling Sun. Mel says they're addressing how disliked the harem protagonist was by reducing his presence but they aren't removing him. So people who wanted him are getting a worse product and the people who hated him still aren't going to like him.
>>736081087It's not gonna happen but it would be great to hear some of these in Quartet
Did zoomers somehow find out about this game?We got 0 threads when it released, so I was kinda bummed that I had no one to discuss the game with.
>>736089559>Some players might say "oh, it's only towels added, it's okay" or something along the line, and not realize being robbed of other game aspects as well.>I hope I just misread the article or overreact. In a way, I hope it is really bad. Part of the reason this nonsense continues so easily is because the scope of the censorship/changes doesn't bother everyone just like you said. But if in changing the dialogue to "lessen the sexualization of high school girls" (or something) it makes characters like Shihori or the second game's dates feel a lot less yuri then that might add enough voices to the complaints to make them reconsider things for future works. Though maybe Blue Reflection is too small to really make waves.
>>736095627I'm sure I'm not the only one was born in the late 90s or early 2000s who knows about this game, so yeah, some zoomers know about Blue Reflection.
>>736095627The frequency of BR threads has been increasing over the last few years, guess the games gradually caught people's eyes
>>736095795I just feel like the same 5 people make and talk in the threads.
>>736095884Which is more or less true, they don't have the highest amount of activity and may often be 7 or 8 people at most. The thread made before the anniversary event got a lot of activity, in that thread more people posted than usual, definitely: >>735728452
>>736095627Well, Blue Reflection is shockingly still the only obvious "magical girl video game" I think. Other examples that get brought up don't quite fit the stereotypical magical girl tropes/setting/aesthetic so BR stands out in that regard which builds attention over time.
I'll be sure to pirate it so I can play the 3rd and 4th entries. Otherwise, they aren't getting a cent from me.
>>736095627I only played the first game this year yeah
>>736095627There have been quite a lot of Blue Reflection threads this year. Mainly image dumps, but still
>>736096692Heh, this really is a popular scene for the standards of the game considering that it's a variant of something posted above (>>736068751).
>>736095627Both games received some discussion here at release, though I don't recall how substantial it was. I didn't get around to trying either game until much later, though, for various reasons. BR1 also didn't really click with me when I first tried it for some reason, though I at least liked the music, aesthetics, and Hinako enough to revisit it later.>>736096562There are a number of decent licensed magical girl games, they're just fairly old. It is surprising that the genre/theme is so barren in videogames these days.
>>736097421Aw damn I just love panties and picked a screenshot where the largest amount of them were in display, I'm surprised 4chan didn't go bananas saying it was a duplicate
>>736098295Different filenames and slight differences, that's how it didn't say it was a duplicate, one can play a game of ''spot the difference'' with the two images.
>>736098871Makes sense.
It's not the best image but, here, a screenshot of School Girl Zombie Hunter. The Japanese version was used as reference but the game is uncensored in the west, the only thing that may have been censored are the ages of the characters but I'm not sure. What the characters have right there is a lamp, they really use it during the missions in darker places and it can't be removed.Very different game compared to Blue Reflection but it's one of the things in common, every character wears unique underwear, there are variants/recolors but the girls wear unique underwear by default. If you love third-person shooters, it's worth it in my opinion, I really like it...like the Blue Reflection games, School Girl Zombie Hunter doesn't have English voices however, I really don't like the lack of English voices..
>>736100370I found later missions kind of annoying, since a lot of them involved finding the one long path through the school that isn't blocked by barriers while enemies constantly materialize out of thin air in front of you. It was otherwise reasonably entertaining for a super low budget ecchi game, though.>I really don't like the lack of English voices.Sometimes I almost feel like you're trying to bait dub vs. sub arguments with how often you bring them up.
>>736101402>Sometimes I almost feel like you're trying to bait dub vs. sub arguments with how often you bring them upWhat can I say? I love English dubs and if a game only has Japanese voices, then that, in itself, is a negative aspect or worthy of criticism as far as I'm concerned. If most Neptunia games, the Akiba's Trip games, Omega Quintet, Shining Resonance Refrain, Dead or Alive 5 and 6, Death end re;Quest 1 and 2, Scar-Lead Salvation, Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 2, Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force, Valkyria Revolution etc, have both English and Japanese voices, then of course the Blue Reflection games can have English voices too, full stop.I've criticized the games for the lack of English voices unlike other games published by Koei Tecmo and it's disappointing that with a third time, after two games previously released, they still don't have English voices...come on Koei Tecmo!
>>736100370Is this game any good? I have a lot of pantsu games now but dont have this one
>>736102296I like it a lot, I don't like the fact that it doesn't have English voices unlike other ''pantsu games'' (some were mentioned) but it's a fun third-person shooter with 5 playable characters. The game has some variety for its missions (it's not just going from point A to point B), it can be a little challenging and it has many weapons to unlock. It's has some bad aspects of course and I'm not just talking about the lack of English voices...there are a few glitches or bugs and the performance isn't perfect (it doesn't always run at 60fps) but even so, I really like it. It's available on PS4 and PC, interestingly, the PC version is hidden on Steam even though it doesn't have explicit content.
>>736032592It was almost good...almost...Graphics were top, so was the music, story was weird sometimes but okayish (although I hated that yuzu and lime lied to hinako about being able to be cured) but the gameplay just sucked ass, dungeons sucked, boss fights sucked and the combat system sucked, though I feel like they were dangerously close to making it decent, if they just polished it a little bit more.also fuck them for dropping the magical girl stuff with the second game
>>736102296It's not great, but not completely terrible either. It's not something I would generally recommend, but if you're willing to forgive some clumsy mechanics and the limited environments and such then you might have some fun with it.
>>736103213Good post. Although i wouldn't exaclty say that they dropped the magical girl stuff with Blue Reflection: Second Light, the designs of Ao and Kokoro as reflectors are just less...colorful and pretty compared to the original game, but they still are reflectors and are considered as such. I guess you should say ''fuck them for using less colorful designs'' instead.Anyway, I'll go out for a few hours soon, I won't post more in this thread for a while. We'll see if this thread is still up in 5-7. Here's Chihiro's underwear just because.
>>736103601I wanted to say 5-7 hours. Anyway, bye.
>>736039921>>736059415Did the censor it post release or what?
>>736103806The new collection of the games Blue Reflection: Quartet coming on July 2026 will be censored.
>>736104051I see, not sure if want.In a way I'm glad the franchise didn't die, but there is much left to be desired plus the censorship cringe...Whats the general consensus?
>>736103601Where are her hips?
>>736104761>In a way I'm glad the franchise didn't die, but there is much left to be desired plus the censorshipThat's largely how I feel as well. I don't generally care much about remasters, but Quartet is a decent enough idea that I would still be hyped about it if it were better executed. Consolidating the franchise's storyline into one videogame package rather than having parts of it stuck in an anime and gacha sounds great. Unfortunately, it sounds like Sun and especially Ray are being handled in a really lazy, bare-bones way, so they don't add as much to the package as I would like. This also would have been a great opportunity to polish up the original games slightly (even something as simple as a new difficulty mode would be quite a boon to the original) but it sounds like all that is getting added to them is censorship and new characters in BR2 (who don't have any storyline events at all, apparently.)The censorship I would forgive more easily if it at least appeared they had tried to release it uncensored and had the platform holders force their hand, but as is it kind of looks like they just threw the fanbase under the bus while hoping that a sanitized release would get more sales. I like the series and would prefer not to see it die, but it's hard to feel much enthusiasm for Quartet under the circumstances.
>>736104761Well there's toned down visual fanservice (nudity, underwear, wet shirts will be changed), plus changes to the dialogue "due to current standards", plus keeping the male protagonist in the Sun remake, plus toning down the male's presence in the story and removing the romantic side events with him. So there's something there for everyone to hate. The positives is seeing Sun's main story, the prologues and epilogues added to Ray + Sun, characters from Sun will be playable in Second Light, the secret bonus *something* that you'll get for completing all 4 games, and I guess getting to support the series so they'll hopefully make more. That isn't enough based on what most comments have said. I'll probably put up with it in the slim hopes of a better sequel.
>>736107743>shitpost in MY thread, will you?
>>736113675I thought she was naked from the thumbnail...
>>736110085Kokoro's boulders...
>>736113779It looked that way to me at first as well.
How is Kokoro so heavy? Is her body made of solid iridium?
>>736116081>>736115607SHE'S CANONICALLY FAT?maybe I should play the second game already
>>736116415"Fat" is a strong term. More like "cornfed country girl".
She certainly has some fat in some areas.
I think this scene was part of the DLC so it won't be in Quartet.>>736116415She agreed one too many times.
>>736117336That would explain why I don't remember that one. I had been wondering what event it was from.

Well, I see that the thread is still up. I watched the movie Project Hail Mary. I like it, I definitely give an 8/10 at best, there are one or two things I didn't like about the movie, it's definitely another case of ''I don't like this as much as other people do'' but that said, I can see why many people love the movie or how it got very positive reviews, the movie definitely has its merits. In my opinion the best parts are the soundtrack (oh, the soundtrack!) and the beautiful special/visual effects. Of course, it couldn't be more different from Blue Reflection, it's a sci-fi movie, if you really like Blue Reflection you aren't necessariliy going to like it, critically acclaimed movie or not (and it is a critically acclaimed movie). But anyway, this is a Blue Reflection thread, so...more Blue Reflection posts!
>>736105669She doesn't have much of that like most characters.>>736117336It's not, I never got DLC of the game and I still remember that scene.
So should I just buy 2nd Light and play it that way or wait for the bundle?
>>736124301If you don't like the additional censorship and/or have already played the first game and just want Second Light, I say buy the sequel and play it that way, if you don't have a problem with the censored content or haven't played the first game and want to experience everything in a single package, then wait for Blue Reflection Quartet.
>>736032592Is there a mod that uncensors the second game?
>>736125323I've never heard of such a thing, the sequel has less frequent and noticeable jiggle physics, their clothes are less see-through compared to the first game when they get wet and there aren't scenes of the characters in their undies. The most you could do is maybe play it with a mod to put the characters in their undies like other images posted.
>make two games with very yuriful tones>make a gacha starring a male MC where all the girls are pining for him>fans hate it>fast forward a couple years>announce a collection with all the games plus the gacha everyone hates>take out the dating aspect of it believing that is why they hated it>censor the bath scenes>no neither yurifags or waifufags want itit's amazing how much of a fuckup this series is
>>736124840I'm conflicted. I saw the reviews for the first BR weren't too positive so I wanted to start with 2 to see if I would enjoy the franchise, but I was hoping for a DX version with a little extra QoL and all the DLC like the Atelier games get. But hearing about these censored things and not knowing how much of the DLC is included is a little discouraging because it means there isn't one "definitive" version to play.
>>736126126I understand. It's a bit complicated because it's not clear if the DLC will be included or what is going to be included if a part of the DLC is indeed included.

>>736130487Uta, the only Blue Reflection character in the games who wears pantyhose. I'm not sure about Amiru or characters that only appear in the anime.
Kirara.
>>736132036 kirara my beloved she’s so stupidly cute in that outfit it’s unreal. the short hair + that oversized collar combo is peak “transfer student you get a crush on in 3 seconds” energy. also why is she at the zoo of all places lmao meanwhile there’s a whole giraffe in the background and i’m still just staring at her like a degenerate BR2 really nailed the soft, slightly awkward vibe with her. 10/10 would skip combat to max bond events again.
>>736133945It's confirmed that she will have a different voice in Blue Reflection Quartet, at least during the part of Blue Reflection Sun, I don't know why she isn't voiced by the same person anymore but anyway, I wonder if her voice is going to be noticeably different.
>>736133945I like her a lot, too. Any scenes with her or Yuki in them were sure to be good.
>>736132721They are wearing the same swimsuits, nice.

>>736140185I think the board might be slow with how shit this year is.
>>736140185>I wonder if this thread is going to survive the nightWe had like 6 Blue Reflection threads back to back and by this thread we were already running out of steam
>>736144818Things have slowed down a fair bit, since there's not much more to discuss about Quartet for now.

Bump.
>>736156660There were a lot of CG images made for Blue Reflection Sun.
>>736154324Tbh, I recall someone of dev team (I have a feeling that it was Tsuchiya and not Kishida) saying something like "you, as a player. are supposed to feel uncomfortable for having male protagonist, it's expected", like you might not like him and it was sorta according to the plan. Yes, it was surely a lame excuse for having a male lead. But anyway, you could say it had a purpose, to officially annoy players.
>>736156660It's like 1% of happening but the very least I am going to give a quick look at Q and see if it's easy to add missing story parts from gacha version.

>>736161910What is?
The rating summary of Blue Reflection Quartet is here! Censored collection or not, it will have some fan service obviously, what they mention there sounds kind of spicy and it's consistent with previous releases, ''characters' breasts sometimes bounce during transformation sequences'' is a reference to Hinako's transformation sequence in the first game *at least*, and, wow, ''one scene depicts a character briefly groping another character's chest'' should be about a censored version of that scene with Shihori and Hinako, the animation itself and what not may give the idea that one of them only tried to grab the breasts of another character but it's totatlly true that the scene probably means ''she is grabbing her breasts'' and it should be their intention. We'll see, in any case, the rating summary has been written.
https://x.com/hytasan/status/2039286441566683357>Asano found out about Quartet from someone on DiscordThat's depressing, especially given his music is what made the first game worth sitting through.
>>736164804Meanwhile, the original rating.
>>736165552The rating summary of the original game, yeah. It's likely that they change or remove some lines of dialogue considering what the ESRB mentioned there, if not, at least it's a fact that multiple scenes will he censored with towels or more clothing. If one pays attention to the content descriptors, it's obvious that only the first Blue Reflection game has ''Partial Nudity'' as one of its content descriptors, the other releases, they have the content descriptor ''Suggestive Themes'' but not ''Partial Nudity'' too, and in fact, if one doesn't count re-releases or DX editions of games that were already available, Blue Reflection was the last game developed by Gust that had ''Partial Nudity'' as one of its content descriptors...
>>736165384I see.
>>736165384That's awful, seriously.
>>736160795I imagine that would be terribly difficult but I'm rooting for you.
Kirara's boobs aren't that big.
>>736162228Better late than never, here they are. Compared to other characters when one uses mods especially regarding the first game, Kirara's panties aren't really seen very much up close but it's something. It might not be immediately noticeable but her panties and underwear in general is a palette-swap/recolor of Yuri's underwear from the first game, she wears green underwear with a little bit of yellow.
It may not have a pattern but with this close-up of Kirara's bra, it's very noticeable that it's based on Yuri's bra from the first game (see >>736048232 as reference).Mostly green underwear, her unifrom is also mostly green...Kirara's underwear works very well, I don't think it feels out of place compared to what other characters wear.
>>736175860*uniform.
I love it when two posts are made almost at the same time.
>>736152865I recall there being a lot of stuff like that in King's Quest and Shadowgate and such.

>>736183846Hayato Asano hasn't worked in a game developed by Gust for at least 2 years now and he has publicly said something along the lines of ''I don't think I'm going to work with Gust again''. Blue Reflection Quartet is mostly going to be recycled music made by him, there's a new vocal song in the trailer but it may be one of the very few new music tracks made for Blue Reflection Quartet and of course, a song where Asano wasn't involved in the slightest with its creation, like most vocal songs in the franchise.
I wonder if they will let us change Ruka's outfit to Hinako's. I know you can glitch up Hiori's skirt during dates so maybe the same will be true for Ruka.
>>736185215Any time you add Ruka to your battle party, there should be a small chance that it's actually Saiki Yuri, and she just stands there in combat wondering why you brought her along.
>>736185956This sounds fun.>>736186607Oh, she is.
>>736184580>"I don't think I'm going to work with Gust again"To quote him directly, from his Twitter:>I don't think I’ll be working with those wonderful colleagues again, but the memory of how we struggled together to pour all our energy into the creative process remains precious to me.They didn't let him know about Quartet either... >>736184580>and he has publicly said something along the lines of ''I don't think I'm going to work with Gust again''.Really? What's he been doing instead then? That sucks regardless, he was the best composer they had.
>>736191550>and a basically all of the good ol' Ateliers; cute girls crushing on cute girlsThe Arland games and Firis are the only Atelier games that had any real focus on yuri elements. There were 12 or 13 Atelier games prior to Arland.>>736192091>I haven't played them but there's Klaudia Valentz in the Ryza games (mostly undertones from what I've heard).Klaudia is implied to like Ryza who is oblivious and the most asexual Atelier protagonist ever and that's it. Ryza's games lacked any character endings and because of that they just didn't even try to deliver on any romance elements with the protagonist.
>>736191550>I'd make him a disabled person.Well, hes already mentally disabled.
>>736161854I tried searching and it was probably from this interview. But the wording is a bit different, so I might confuse with different one, or I just misremember it a bit - https://www.famitsu.com/news/202211/25282762.htmlMTL of the relevant part: "Of course, I understand why long-time fans might be thinking, “Why is there a man in such a beautiful world?” I get it, but if you watch the story closely, I believe you’ll find that it meets your expectations and leaves you satisfied.
