Boruto just has no worth as an add-on to the Naruto world. Most if not all abilities and characters in Naruto were used to specifically explore the cycle of pain that makes up the core of the story. In the Boruto manga literally all of that is worthless and instead of fleshing out the other clans or interesting side characters it just keeps trying to make the asspull aliens from the end of Naruto relevant even though they are the least interesting villains in all of manga. Kishimoto should have stuck with putting out a 20 chapter side story every few years and keep the wonder of that world alive instead of throwing it all away because he felt like an absent father and wanted the rest of the world to know.
