Finally finished my fire emblem 6 ironman today. It holds up a lot worse than I remember honestly. I missed the true end just because I thought roy could recruit juno, but the gaidens are so obnoxious I didnt really feel bothered. It does mean that I didnt get any paired endings because the bad end only gives you default ending cards for whatever reason in the old patch.Overall I would say the three worst things about this game are the obnoxious ranged attackers (sleep berserk bolting killer balista etc), ambush spawns with massive range, and the large gap between promotion items. I dont need to elaborate on these but I will say the promo items and ranged damage force you into using snowballing juggernauts.Overall I found the enemy density was actually fine because after chapter 7 the enemy quality hits rock bottom except like maybe 1 god squad of enemies on the map. Hit rates are not a problem if you stick to silver killer iron fire, also supports arent hard to grind at the end of a map just spamming end turn. The enemies are the ones that suffer hit rate issues more than you, and only classes like heroes or valkyries or bishops have high enough dodge to be a problem.This run, i really reversed my opinions on rutger and gonzales, the shitposters got me. Rutger was useful very early on in the game, and then he was never doing anything important for the rest of the game, in fact i had to feed him kills because of how far behind he fell. Same with dieck honestly. Gonzales on the other hand was such a god tank and kills everything and one shots mages and shit with a hand axe. There are so many peaks in this game for him to abuse and mow down armies of enemies, i thought he was a shitter and a meme but he was honestly a top 3 unit in my run. I was also pleasantly surprised by klein because you get like 3 killer bows and 2 long bows and 2 silver bows during the game so hes always using powerful tools throughout the game.

I hammerned the bolting twice because it was just that useful. My lilina had 8 (eight) skill by the end of the game and she didnt miss a single bolting with roy or gonzales backing her up.i know you guys hate thany too but she was really useful the whole time I used her until a wyvern crit her to death. Ferrying and sniping people with the silver lance, or even just rescuing people back from the front lines is more useful than your 6th best combat unit. I think she functions more like an infinite use rescue staff than a fighter after the early game.
