Google has a new AI model that doesn't depend on the transformer foundation that modern day AI models do. I still think it the Solid State Model, but it could also be a hybrid model that uses the transformer foundation for specific tasks and something else for the rest. Either way, just as anyone who follows AI development knew for a while (i.e not the people who hang out here or on social media falling for bait headlines), the transformer + attention only model is on its way to being phased out for something more efficient, cost effective and as powerful (or more so) than transformers in capabilities.

Exactly, bringing in more people into the PC gaming "ecosystem" is obviously going to be heavily profitable for Gabe.
It's the same same reason why console wars existed and why consoles were sold at a loss, each console sold is one more (potential) long term customer.

>be the only *HALF*-decent vidya company/dev team left

the morals shifted, good is gone. now neutral (the new greatest good on the scale) to evil is all that's left. Valve is neutral with pieces of good sprinkled in. Everyone else is ass compared to that. Ergo, Valve is the best, the other old good guys are all gone, or went over to, or is corpse puppeted [the dev studio] by the dark side.

Valve doing nothing is less evil than the rest actively going out of their way to do it.

RAM will never be as cheap as it was in 2025. Gas will never be as cheap as it was in 2019. The quality of the human population is collapsing, civilization will rely on a smaller and smaller number of intelligent, wealthy people to prop it up, until whole sections just implode into permanent “poverty,” which will just be the new normal.

Valve are not perfect.
>Tuesdays used to fucking suck
>Greenlight was dogshit
>Paid mods were dogshit
>Trading cards were dogshit
>Overmoderation of game reviews is dogshit
>Removing the old scoring system for upboats and downboats was dogshit
>Killing TF2 was shit
>Caving to MasterJew and Jewsa was shit

But you know, my account is 19 years old. In that time I have:
>Been able to play all the games on my account
>Never had an issue with refunds
>Never had shit removed from my library
>Have acquired a large library through sales
>Have had stellar support from third parties in acquiring more games, like Humble Bundle
>Linux support has improved massively
>Steam Deck gave what a lot of people wanted
>Family/game-share has been a great feature
>Never been banned, but even people who are banned keep their games

And in the future:
>The controller looks good
>Linux support getting good enough to ditch copilot bloat and candycrush ads Windows

It's not that they're perfect, it's that every other company has been dogshit by comparison. Say a naughty word on Minecraft? Lose your Xbox account. Fuck you. Oh that game from PS+? Nah we removed that from the library with our reorganisation. Backwards compatibility? How about go fuck yourself. Want to buy more than one game at a time? No can do, Jim!

Nope, Valve are good because the others are shit. Valve and GoG are better than the others, just by being less awful.

>Why? It's literally free money for (you), funded by retards.
It's the 'take one cent off of every transaction' approach. It feels like a superfluous grifting add-on to a service that didn't really need it. You might even be able to ignore it if it were, you know, honest, one way or the other, but it's not. It's about nickel and dimeing people while pretending to give them a feature.

Let's say it was about the gameplay/profile side of it - you would get enough cards to complete sets by playing. But that's not the case.

Let's say it was about the money - then they would have some sort of actual value. Do you people really take the time to sell cards for 3 cents each? Because that's what most of them are worth. They aren't locked behind any sort of challenge to add value to them. They all drop within a couple of hours of playing, and are all worthless. Their value is in the cumulative micropayments Valve take.
>>
Valve won. This is fact.
>>
>>736094108
More likely just quietly, or at least try to, go back to business like it never happened, but not lower prices. Americans develop a humanoid robot, price it for 420,000 USD.
China develops a humanoid robot, price it at 18,000 USD.

Nobody buys american, everyone buys chinese. China has a low profit margin but they make up for it by completely destabilizing the market as a whole. China is going to win, just like they did with Xiaomi phones.

OpenAI was also fucked because Elon sued them and the case is coming up at the end of April.

tl;dr: Elon privately funded them for years under the condition that they remained open-source(hence the name, OpenAI) but they went public anyway

They conspired behind the scenes to trick him into giving them money and then turned around and went public and told him to fuck off. He sued saying he should get a piece of the pie or a payout because he privately funded them for years.

This will be an easy win for Elon because during discovery they found out the CEO of OpenAI E-mailed himself frequently and used it as a personal diary(lol). In it, the CEO actually incriminated himself by saying something like this: "I need to find a way to shut Elon out so we can take this public on our own because we will be filthy rich".

It's a wonder what running a company that doesn't chase quarterly profits will accomplish. Since Valve doesn't have to betray their own customers every 3 months and fuck them in the ass just to make a spreadsheet look good for investors, they are able to acquire loyalty through their consistency and superior service to other products.

That's something other companies can't do. They can only imitate.

If other companies get a loyal fanbase they can only retain them for a year or two before the cracks begin to show. Valve has been consistent for most of our adult lives so it's expected that plenty of people would defend them for absolutely nothing in return.

The advantage of capitalism is that it's more agile than a planned structure, but all systems are better with strong guidelines. It's why the strongest economic times were heavy social spending and taxation paired with free industry

So you're one of these huh.
Valve's competition didn't want you to really own your games. They actively toyed with online licences and limited installs. Meanwhile you pay for a steam game once and can freely install and play it for years. Steam DRM is also notoriously weak and forgiving. Now, the copy protection of old and crap like Gays for Winblows Live on the other hand...

Id bet my house that, if a new RAM manufacturer appears out of nowhere, there will be hundred of autists diggin it to see who they really are (You only have to check if they are on the stock market and it will instantly show where that company comes from).
Anyway, the same shit was said by Njudea, but im pretty sure that was in order to swindle investors.

Distillation attacks will be harder as the government slowly wakes up to AI being an actual national security issue. I don't mean Christianity itself, but specifically the morals it imposes on its followers that makes them productive civil members of society. Benjamin Franklin once said “Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.”

Most of western culture used to be like this, even if you grew up secular, you absorbed the same messaging by osmosis. But thanks to importing so many 3rd world migrants, the internet, and allowing gay/tranny people to run wild and shit on christians all the time, we have a society where you can be as evil and cruel as you want as long as it's technically "legal".

Unfortunately, you can't impose morals on people without a logical reason behind it and most people won't accept anything other than "god said so". Woke people tried to do it but their logic is so flawed it was easily deconstructed into the nonsense it actually is.

I'm not going to call you names and remain calm. You probably never grew up without PC gaming was in the past with keys, antipiracy bullshit developers kept pushing and much more. Not to mention that Gabe's inception from MS and how he managed to make PC gaming what it is and the history behind their games and relationships with the modding community.

Nevertheless I can't wait for the Steam machine and controller. I only ever turn my PC on for games and discussion.

Nah, his competitors are just dumb.

After taking the hit with forcing their DRM, they went out of their way to:
>Make good games
>Make the service not shitty to use
>Give discounts whenever the greedy Jews in other corporations allowed it
>Not be a bunch of massive cunts like them
Personally, I always found the worship to be a bit much, but I can understand why they were, and still are, held in high regard.

there is no such thing, valve is just better than most tech companies/storefronts and people are grading it appropriately

like what? Why would I need a launcher?

So your desktop isn't cluttered with 60 icons and you don't have to remember where the fuck you installed "Sister panty sniffer 3000: Onsen Edition".
>>
>>736118602
I don't leave my games installed. When I want to play one I will install it and use the start menu. Start menu would work with 60 games anyways.
>>
>>736084912
They make it easier for me to buy things, play with my friends, update games.
15 years ago I was annoyed by the bloated launcher, but the gap between the bloat of the launcher software and my hardware has increased so much that it's like it isn't there anymore.
I don't even use 3rd party voice chats anymore since steam's own voice chat is good.

Valve has so much money they can sell the Steam Cube for $50 and still make a profit.

the fact that you need an account to run your games is enough "enshittification" in itself

people on here are dumb enough to fall for it. back when 4chan wasnt literally >50% bots people still dickrode valve even though theyve been almost exclusively a negative to video games

their main product is gambling for children. of course they dont have to chase profits. they have no obligations to anyone because they are printing money.
this is also why they ahvent had to release a successful product in decades.

everything theyve done outside of lootcrates has been a massive financial flop. and portal

Open Source Company vs. Going Public:

Open Source Company: Builds around truly open code (OSI-approved license) that anyone can freely use, modify, fork & self-host. Revenue comes from support, hosting, or add-ons. Prioritizes community, transparency & user freedom.

Going Public (IPO): Shifts duty to maximize shareholder returns via quarterly results & stock price. This often pressures companies to restrict openness—relicensing to "source-available" models, gating features, or limiting commercial use (e.g., vs. cloud competitors). Community goodwill takes a backseat to profits.

I mean wouldn't a strict Nationalist structure like NatSoc Germany be sufficient? No dumb faggot bad shit for our people. No media that disparages the people. No shitfillers and untested chemicals in our food. Foreign policy that's strictly only to benefit the people of the nation and not bring in a gazillion fucking thirdies.

Niggernewfags do NOT understand what PC gaming was like from 2007-2012.
You either had Steam which was slowly getting more and more gaems
Or YOU CAN ONLY INSTALL THIS GAME 5 TIMES GET FUCKED GOY AND ALSO SIGN UP FOR OUR MANDATORY SHITTY HALF-WORKING WEBSERVICE THAT'S SLOW AS SHIT

I'm 100% taking foreigner assets and kicking them all out. The biggest thing is society is the best when you got a mix of socialism (NATIONAL) and capitalism. Caring for the nation's people has never been a bad thing and is always economically feasible. It just breeds good civilization.

If fuckin Hitler can do it I don't see why we can't.
>>
>>736094045
Yeah, I know the whole PC master race overhyped Gabe N. But the truth is Valves positive reputation as a store front is earned. Other than GOG, every other game service has screwed with me by removing stuff from my library, going away and deleting my library, or just straight up changing the name of their service (origin) and telling me to rebuy all my games again.

Sure, the social features are over moderated, they have done stupid stuff, and they were really shitty when they started out.... but they have learned from mistakes.
GOG has slowly made me love them. They aren't perfect either but they really try. Their partnership with amazon is the only reason I've kept a prime subscription. They have never tampered with my library and good lord do they try. I applaud them as the game preserving storefront they are.
I think GOG could blow up if they get their full linux support and decent social features in place. Also more partnerships please. It's comfy to get classics regularly.
