>endgame is just collecting materials, driving aimlessly through completely empty desert, pranking enemy bases for fun, and trying to engage with an obtuse online componentit's like he never left, though I will say not being able to farm women and force them into bikinis is a pretty big downgrade
>>736109335If anyone's on a latest gen card, the nexus optiscaler/mfg4x mod is crazy good, the latest dlss preset has 0 ghosting with MFG. I usually run the game at like 75 fps, but now it's a rock solid 150, and I can't see any quality degradation, unlike the games default implementation.
I think it's funny how there's kind of huge parts of the map you never really have any reason to engage with, yet aren't blocked off. There's a pretty large spot of terrain around the villa in mexico all the way down to the large river (to include the other bank) you can trek through.
>>736109335This game is hilariously bad. The sluggish rdr2 tier controls, laggy quick menus that take 3 seconds to appear, rehashed enemies and bosses, everything is a fetch quest, pretentious music. And don't get me started on the ending, by far the worst boss fight I ever played. The hitboxes are horrendous, attacks connect while you're missing by a meter or two, the moveset only has attack and block lol. The whole story is even worse, everything hinges on some random dude having THAT BB pod at the start of DS1? Lol, lmao even. And don't get me started on that whole Neil Vana plot. Neil Vanas actor was the only good thing of this whole cluster fuck, amazing actor.

>>736110319I enjoyed the playthrough and discovery of both games but yeah at endgame it's difficult to find reasons to stick around. If the game was moddable like skyrim players could create their own fun but what Kojima could do for DS3 is just add more random events and more building / gadgets. The monorail was a nice upgrade for 2 but it's hardly utilized. Thee could have been a subway through the mountains so you could cut across the map without doing a full circle. There could have been more islands that required special bridging like where the inventor hid.I have so much to say about the game but it is what it is. If it was moddable it could have been so much more.
>piss and shit nades are no longer free, and need to be crafted like blood nades>blood nades no longer actually spend your own bloodliterally what's the point of ex-nades now. they lost even their last resort "guess I'll throw these since I forgot to get rid of them and/or I'm out of blood bags" use.
>>736111627Ex grenades stun BTsThey're useful when you can't do enough damage to take one out before it can hit youThe Blood Boomerang still uses your own blood if you want to use thatPersonally I think the game's weaker now that MP ammo exists and every firearm can work on BTs. DS1 did the horror element better because BTs just feel like bulletsponge foes now, not literal ghosts you have to sneak past.

Are there any hidden things you can find in the world? Cool locations, hidden fights, easter eggs, that sort of thing? I'm having fun exploring but I've really only found cool photo spots.
>>736110319>>endgame is just collecting materialsI'm not entirely at end-game (F5 just connected) but I'm burning out on hauling materials. Building the road from The Commander to F5 was painful because it took about 3-5 trips and the DHV can't warp to anything but the Government outpost close enough unless you wait until late late game to do that road instead.I built it so I could avoid having to build the monorail, which I started but saw the drops and said "fuck that" to.Now that I got F5 built, I started the track going from it to the main north, and there's still at least another 1-2 "links" on that track to do that requires hoofing it or lucking out with the truck to reach AND the materials. The grind is a little insane.

>>736113982>Also remember PC bros to use the pokemon mechanic and capture bosses, I didn't do it much when I played it.Is it actually that useful? I saw a BT from a Gate Quake on the way to getting those unlocked and hauled ass. Apparently that's the area where you test them first which oops.I've been avoiding BT areas but building roads. It's just less hassle than running through them generally.
>>736114098You'll unlock those shortly. Keep doing the story (after 4 starring preppers on the way if you're doing that). It's about 2-4 more story locations away.
i dont do main orders to another connection point until i have built all of the rail and road connections in network covered areas. resources are nowhere near as tedious this time around, shared lockers are always full of them, you get notices for players dropping off materials in postboxes nearby, there's always xl containers lying around on the fringe areas outside of network coverage, and of course there's always raiding the camps which have xl containers lying around and postboxes
>>736114209oh, alright, thanks! I've been taking my time building roads, exploring random spots on foot and 5 starring most of the locations.
>>736114312I've only seen one road built off network (by "the Pizza Chef") and that was near F4. I was gobsmacked that is possible. The reason it's tedious is because it feels like NOBODY ELSE IS CONTRIBUTING! I don't know if I'm just unlucky with my world's choices of porters being selected, but the initial unlocked road and that one is the only time I've seen others contribute and have it surprise me it's there. I've built 80% of the road and monorails in my world and if I could at least have SOME tracks built (even if I have to connect to the network first!) it'd be less a grind.
Roads are tedious but they're not necessary to build. The game has a built in pathing system that clears obstacles the more times you run through a route. The monorail is easier to build and actually useful for collecting materials from the mines. The main issue I feel is that at endgame there isn't an omni skeleton that's both fast and safe so the player is kind of goaded into relying on the truck most of the time. This makes roads feel essential when they're not.
I'm just starting out playing Death Stranding Director's Cut. Any tips for an early anon? I JUST got the first vehicle trike thing recharge and I have a couple of missions that culminate with going back to Capital Knot City again, from the Distro Center West of Capital.>Trike from distro center is now recharged thanks to PCC Generator spec, but can't actually print 'new' bikes I assumeI want to be very careful not to lose the damn thing as I don't know how to get another one yet. I'm guessing if I can bring it back to Capital maybe it can go into the garage there or something?>One mission requires you to steal shit from a Mule postbox I'm told that as long as you don't have any deliverable/tagged cargo, all those mule pylons will not ping you. Is it worth it to temporarily drop your cargo and/or load it on your trike outside the pylon perimeter? I'm afraid of cargo being deemed "lost" if I drop it all on the ground and then walk way into the Mule camp? How does it govern when your cargo is "lost"? Or is it better to keep your cargo, and use the pings somehow? Some anons say there's stuff in late game but I don't have anything yet. Also MULEs (and presumably others) have way better vision than MGS soldiers so if yu're not crouching in high grass they may see you. Some say that you should just take down the MULEs but I worry about damage to cargo if they hit me, throw those electric bolas etc.. I finished the objective by putting cargo on the trike outside the pylon, and then took a long time sneaking in and using the Strand to CQC stealth takedown the MULEs in the way, then fucking off, but I figure I can't do that every time or if I have too much/too important cargo >Director's Cut MGS-mission line? When I got to the Distribution Center West of Capital Knot City, I see they had a couple of missions that take you to the reactor, which I recall are the DC special mission series; claims need Maser Gun. Wait to start these?
>>736114598out of the part of the map i have unlocked so far, i only had trouble doing the pavers around lone commander (the ones that are in network coverage anyway) which i understand because he's a bit of a pain in the ass to get too. every paver from rainbow valley to f2 i only had to top up with a few hundred here and there and i have ton of ceramics from upgrading smoke hill. monorails are easy because i upgraded the f1 mine and nobody ever claims resin from lockers/distro centers for some reason.
>>736113740nta but he's asking for a mid-motion screenshot
>>736115305You can build new bikes at any garage. You can recharge bikes with a generator anytime you're within the chiral network. Always carry one PCC kit with you so you can drop a generator as necessary. You can unhook your backpack with all your cargo and leave it outside the camp by your bike. It's fine, but it'll get damaged by timefall if you leave it alone for long so like, if it's raining, maybe store everything in a nearby shelter first. You can clear camps however you want, sneak and wire them, go in guns blazing, it makes no difference. But obviously just running in and punching everyone is faster since they'll all try to swarm you and you don't have sneak around hunting one at a time. You can do missions in whatever order you want. Doesn't matter. It's what you want to work on. I usually look at a guide online to find what upgrades I care about such as the skeleton, or backpack, especially a larger battery or better weapon, then focus on unlocking that.
>>736115212Boost legs and trekking boots are all you need for endgame on foot, floating carrier for big loads, ezpz. >>736115305At that point you can't print bikes yet, you'll get that in the next area. Be sure not to lose it, and putting it in the garage repairs it until you can print them.
>>736115305>Any tips for an early anon?you can go back to the starting map. don't worry about finding/doing everything initially.the sticky gun is (one of) your best friends, use it when you unlock itthere's no reason to delay the dc content in the first map, the maser is a good tool to have early on.you'll be doing A LOT of mule camp raiding for road resources
also some of, or one of, the ds1dc specific missions are story locked and you can't do the last one at the ruined factory until you finish the game anyway. do them as die hardman gives them you. i also forgot about the early game skeleton that's also useful.
>>736115592
>>736115473Like I said: Either I'm unlucky or just not understanding the contribution thing, I get the higher costs off network, but even on-network it feels like nobody really adds anything, I haven't seen any of the roads I've built be contributed to in upgrading. Which is weird, you'd think people would contribute to upgrading those for speed and less repair work. The area south of F4 is the only time I've seen a road already built besides the initial starting area (which, ironically also is the only bit of road I've seen upgraded besides the ones I've done to save myself from having to repair when I have the resources).

Dropping cargo at the moment is hand or on the ground. Conversely, if the Maser (which I assume you get either during / reward for the first mission) trivializes a lot of content as at this point? All I have is the Strand and the Type 0 Bath Water Grenades. >>736117837>early skeleton >Where/how is this found? it's part of the dc missions where you unlock the maser in the early game, you can't miss it. do all the orders for sam as you get them.for roads is where the online component comes in. you and other players all donate resources to the roads. you can store tons of them in your private locker you get at ever distro center (keep in mind they're not shared what you store at one is ONLY at that one)
>>736118010>yeah, I'm only taking story missions from now onUnless you're going for the 5 star achievement, stopping at 4 star barring like 1-2 preppers is worthwhile. In any case, some of the preppers will get leveled anyway by the story as you'll backtrack. >>736118516>free shitHonestly, you only need to go to the mine for 3,200 a few times. It's not THAT huge a get to put it on the network. Now the mine in the Desert for roads... totally understandable.
>>736118817dunno about you but ceramic wasn't an issue for me until after I leveled every road within the chiral network to level 2. I just checked the smaller mine once in a while and there would be a stack of free ceramic that I would store on the Magellan for later.
I used cheat engine to fix the roads, fuck all this mining shit
>>736119136>level 2Yeah, I can't be assed with that this late in the game. I used that north mine 3,200 to build roads, but with the preppers giving me stuff it wasn't a huge deal to keep it off the network until now.
I've been building all the roads up to the Peko girl. Haven't had to use the mines yet. I just take all the materials from all the shelters I'm delivering to and store them in the truck. Does building the roads get more difficult or need more resources that you need the mines?
>>736118695Statements mde by the utterly deranged
>>736119151Can cheat engine prevent the roads from being completed instead?
>>736119151you pour chiral crystals into a box and get a dozen xl containers back plus whatever was already in the loading area when you arrived. "mining" takes 2 seconds.
>>736118010>>736118146You're only able to gain one star's worth at a time, but just visually. This is to stop you from earning multiple rewards in a single delivery, prompting multiple back to back dialogues. If you were to, for example, drop enough stuff at a location to take it from 0 stars to 5 stars, you'd only see 1 star during that delivery. Next delivery you'd need the next star, and so on, no matter how much you brought, because your stars are already gained, you're just not being given them all at once. You can game the system by keeping one or two lost cargo items in reserve during a large delivery and delivering them separately afterwards to queue the next reward.
>>736119345if you just keep within the chiral network you'll be fine. some of the roads are fucked though, like the one behind the Lone Commander.
>>736119345If you're off network, it'll start wanting like 12,000 Steel/Ceramic each and about 1-2,000 chiralsIf you're on network, it'll get lower as contributes come in (over time if you don't immediately rush it, of course), but they do get higher.
>>736119470It's the hauling things that he probably hates. But a majority of the mines are on monorails (can send the mining stuff with no trucks, even!) or near warp points for the DHV that it's honestly not that huge a deal.
Is there a point to letting roads/rails you didn't build decay so you can build them yourself and get credit for them? Do you take over credit for a road after upgrading/repairing it? My infrastructure is finally getting down into 30% territory and I'm trying to figure out what my plan is.

Are they automatically part of your equipment/cargo, or do you need to select them from the private locker or something? and thanks, yeah I'm taking things relatively slowly, taking all "priority" missions available more or less in the direction of travel. Are the "standard orders" meaningful or are they just ways to get more random reward resources/likes / reputation with the place you're delivering to etc? I'm assuming they're good to do, but an endless list of more or less commonplace deliveries so I figure its probably not worth trying to clear them every time you see them?>>736118449Oh its part of the Director's Cut facility stuff? I'm guessing that otherwise a skeleton or backpack doesn't show up until much later in the game? When you talk about storing resources for roads and private locker, is there reasons to do that over just letting them sit in that distro center's available pool of resources? Just to have them available and not maxing out that distro/waystation/city's max amount of stuff at a time? Also while I'm thinking about it, the primary way to get more of those resources is to harvest the chiralite from the little hand-like structures on the ground, and then get boxes of metals/polymers and "recycle" them at whatever building you want to them to go into, then "cash them out" in boxes of compressed resources to physically carry to bridges and other structures to upgrade or build?
>>736119754>Do you take over credit for a road after upgrading/repairing it?You get partial, even if you rebuild it when it's destroyed. Same as anyone that contributes a little.

I'm not sure if it’s because you can only truly capture the mystery of the world-building once, but the plot was so clear this time that I was more bored than anything. The twists were predictable; the only one that caught me off guard was the Red Samurai. Once that was revealed, the identity of the other mysterious person became obvious.Beyond that, the new tech felt more like an extension than a true improvement. It feels more like Death Stranding 1.5 than a full sequel, I was expecting a Diablo 2 level jump. The difficulty was also a joke; I swear it was harder to deliver cargo and handle BTs in the first game. I just expected more from both the gameplay and the story.

Why is there no SFM porn of Elle Fanning. Isn't the game out on PC now?
I still haven't forgiven him for this line
>>736122470i kneel before la creatividad
I actually wouldnt have minded more combat if it was against BTs and they had expanded it more. They are insane otherworldly magic bullshit you can do *anything* with. But it's all the same shit from previous game and giant BTs aren't very interesting
>>736122552 methem being invisible and having you hold your breath was awesome. i mean more stuff like this
>>736121317There's a lot to forgive in Death Stranding and it's just not the game some of us seem to want.At least i was entertained by the whole ending this time. The fact i started DS2 already knowing the game played a role in me not being as wowed but that's not the game's fault, DS is built like a magician's act, it's not good to understand how it works. Otherwise i'm glad it didn't jump or stray from DS1 because it's too rare to receive a sequel that builds upon itself instead of throwing mechanics away. Even if it threw its mood away, that just means DS2 doesn't step on DS1's toes.I can tell why it wasn't a huge blockbuster too. Lesson is a niche title will remain niche no matter how many A's it gets.
>>736121868The mortars indeed suck because enemies never stay within its effective firing range.
dude
>rest throughout the game>AAAAAAAAAAARE YOU THEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEREBros I'm getting tired of this song
Didnt play DS1, jumped right into wilder difficulty on PC. Trying to avoid using weapons when at all possible and going for a strand only approach when taking on ennemies. So far the difficulty feels pretty easy but, it also feels like the point of the game is not to be difficult in the first place. Realy, wish weather, it being hot/cold, food, fatigue, etc played more of a role in deliveries. Seems like theres barely any mods for DS2 as well, anyone know why that is?
>>736123548i like it
>>736123689I didn't dislike it but now I do because it plays 99% of the time, it's fucking annoying. What's the point of reusing the DS1 resting songs if they don't even play most of the time
australia in this game fucking sucks. it's either flat deserts of nothing or steep fuck you mountains
I gotta say, abandoning your truck full of shit and starting over feels pretty good in this game.
>>736124145I love deserts so I don't mind that myself. But the mountains in this game feel so unfun compared to the first.

SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR MY FATHERRR IS IN TROOBL AGAN
I am absolutely disgusted how wooden the acting and cutscenes are. Everything is so awkward. Everyone is just standing. Nobody is showing any kind of emotion or passion. Fragile has to be one of the worst actress I have ever seen in my entire life. Sam is such a retarded non character that it makes fucking duke nukem shakesperian in comparison. He at least talks. Whether things make sense or not, everything is just so BORING cause NOBODY talks or do stuff.Contrast that to mgs1 where codec talks had flair, jokes, flirting, scientific and funny stuff. You can make fun of snake repeating stuff back as a question but at least Snake is actually existing in the scene. Can you imagine 10 minute long exposition in real life where you just look at the guy speaking without making a single sound or noding your head? Every other cutscene is like this
WHY ARE THERE LIKE NO SECONDARY DELIVERIES???? WHAT WAS KOJIMBOBO THINKING
>>736126798this game has 8 minute long monorail rides and will tell you as much before you even get on them, lord knows how long the autodrive highway trips areit's a wonder that it has pause on focus loss on by default when it's so clearly made to be alt tabbed out ofI guess in japan they're just really used to pulling out their phone during those sequences
>>736126970sadly there's only 400. ds1dc has over 500.
>>736126962they're all in mocap pajamas and helmets with their faces dotted up and cameras dangling in front of their faces with no set except a giant empty white floor when they do these scenessame shit happened in the fallout tv show, the second the actors were required to "react" to the deathclaws their ability to act just flew out the fucking window and it created some of the worst scenes in the whole goddamn showthis is why you should hire VAs and have animators do the poses instead
>>736127042They should have made more of them replayable, its much harder to reach the five stars now that you have to rely on dropped cargo to level them up

Are pc fags ready to talk about how shit the ending is yet. It is not even close to the first game's ending and the last line before the post credits scene is embarrassing and the corpse in the background is the cherry.

i guess i signed a contract with a retard whos favourite thing is putting shelters on top of shelters because every fucking place has one of these in my game.
I haven't built any monorails, what is going on?
>>736128631Playing DS1 my motto became never cross the tar belt because beyond it lied stupidland so i'd end my playthrough right there and deliver around the map until bored. The ending of DS2 motivates me to finish the game so i can see it again.
>>736130175No they are not.E.g. at least in ds1, sam has 1000ml of blood. Each cryptobiote refills 25ml of Sam's blood. Sam always eats just enough cryptobiotes to refill his blood fully in an instant. So it takes 40 cryptobiotes to completely refill all of Sam's blood if he were to lose it.Now lets say you are at 750ml of blood left. Well Sam needs 250ml of blood to refill his blood to 1000ml, thus he will instantly eat 10 cryptobiotes.Etc etcThe other types of biotes wirk in similar fashion.
>>736119891I finally was forced to do one due to the Fishermen sidequest. It's funny as a callback to DS1's same type and the "I CHOOSE YOU!" but I'm not seeing the usefulness of it when it immediately gets eaten to where I now have to deal with a huge ass sperm-whale and trying to delay grenade the asshole whale's mouth while avoiding damage for the S-rank.

Wombats produce cube-shaped feces to mark territory, as the flat sides prevent the droppings from rolling away from prominent spots like rocks or logs. This unique shape, which averages 2cm in size, is formed by uneven intestinal contractions and dry, slow digestion, rather than a square-shaped exit.

There were moments where I literally would start cheering and clapping, sometimes I would be on the floor laughing, other times I’d be curled up in a ball under my blankets crying. Death stranding gave me schizophrenia and I spent a month in the hospital believing it was real. Early this evening I recieved a call from Jack in accounting (I work at squaresoft). He told me the good news, death stranding was good. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, and started jumping for joy and exclaimed “yeah!”. I work closely with squaresofts analytics department and the stock exchange rate is through the roof. People can’t stop buying their stock because death stranding is making huge amounts of sales. It recieved a 10 in every category, no other game has managed to do this before. Story actually will be remembered forever. We can see how many games are already making clones to try to cash in on its success.
