What's the best classic resident evil?
>>736113835RE3.RE1's map layout is good, but the gameplay is too barebone, while RE2 is the opposite. RE3 has the gameplay improvements from 2 and added more and the layout for Raccoon City is pretty minus the long line street the divides both areas. Also 3 is the only fixed camera game in the series to have good boss fights.
>>7361138351 = 3 >>>>>>>> 2
UNCSLOP
>>736114372>>736114481Is 2 that bad? I just started it after beating 1. So far it does seem a lot more simple than the first game but I figure that's because I'm still in the early game.
>>736114760it's not bad at all, but i can see how someone would prefer the mansion over rpd
>>736114760It's not terrible I just think it's overrated and like it the least.
>>736114760i don't outright dislike 2; it's functional enough and has some interesting gameplay ideas, but its disinclination towards committing to the "survival" part of survival horror just makes it play like an unremarkable action game
>>736113835I prefer 1 slightly more than 2. 3 doesn't even touch them.
>>736115779Leon's games tend to always lean more on action, the exception being RE5.
>>736113835RE1 and RE2 haven't aged very well. RE3 is very playable and enjoyable to replay, but it has a weaker plot.
>>7361162373 has the best story scenario imo.
>>736114760classic example of great game, weak difficulty balance. it's still good just kind of soft.
>>7361138352 is my favorite RE and PS1 game ever.
>>736114760>Is 2 that bad?No, it's just one retard with shit taste.
>>7361138353 falls off a cliff after you get to the clock tower. 2 is better than 3 but it's too easy. 1 is the best of the 3
>>736116150He wasn't in that one.
>>736117447Yea I know. I was covering my bases in case some autist was about to say>B- but RE5 is action heavy and doesn't have Leon in it
Re3 is the most fun and challenging if you kill Nemesis every time. Constantly starved for resources
>>7361138353 has the best gameplay1 has the best atmosphere2 exists I guess
>>736116237RE3 is the best plot, by the virtue of the fact that Nemesis is the only fucking thing in the entire RE plot line, where le """bioweapon""" makes sense, instead of just goofy monster to kill
>>736116237All of the classic RE aged like fine wine way to expose yourself though.
>>736113835Do you want the series at its bare essentials for exploring an area, dodging enemies, solving puzzles? 1. Do you want the cinematic side of things that's more like an action movie with cues from Romero and Cameron films, and plenty of safe room for enemy killing? 2. They're pretty different games despite the same core mechanics, and are hardly comparable on a normal idea of what's "better".3 on the flip side is basically the hardcore game for those that mastered the other two, the shortest but also the game that really forces you to figure out what you're doing or get your ass slaughtered pretty quickly. It's still action-packed like 2, but far less forgiving.
>>7361138353 > 1 > CV > 2None of them are difficult games, but RE2 is just way too easy, and it has the weakest level design. I adore the atmosphere in RE3, and I feel like it has the most well balanced gameplay.
>>736118304>the shortesti never got this. 3 always felt the same length as 2 if not longer
>>736118756I consider A and B scenario play as one large game, so 2 kinda cheats on that front despite so much reused between the two. 3 randomizing a few things and solutions plus the decisions and multiple endings helps on its side of things at least, but we both know most people will one-time a game like this and leave it at that til a later replay.
