I enjoyed this game from the very first moment. Because of the music. And then the landcapes. I like the combat, and that every activity is as in depth as some full games. I like the mystery and how I can pass time without abusing it. Everything just has its own unique mechanics specific to this game and I love it. Banks with gold bars and interest, reading memories, stealing gold bars with a lantern, materia it's all just so perfectly mashed together. Nothing about this game is old and tired. Honestly, I wish they had talked more about the abyss gear system, it's where a lot of the game's combat depth comes from, especially once you start unlocking abilities like the quick switch combo that lets you use a weapon-switching attack. Most of the guts of the combat seems to be in stringing together combos with different effects and secondary attacks.

Elden Ring's "atmosphere" for lack of a better word is more "artistic", in that it evokes more feeling.
