Why is everyone in this story so retarded? What is being solved? What deaths are being prevented? At least in the last game a potential deadly drug was off the market and ex criminals are dead.

>What is being solved?
Saori is pissed at Ehara and wanted Yagami to investigate why a man like him would suddenly 180 and go against everything he stood for to insult the justice system with his obvious murder they can't prove. This then snowballs into discovering Kuwana's extremely hypocritical murders and also the entire business with RK's murder streak.
>What deaths are being prevented?
Yagami literally prevents Koda from killing herself plus however many people her and her bullies' activism helps and is actively preventing any future people from Kuwana's retardation. He is also preventing Bando from using RK to murder people under the guise of public security.

The entire point of the story is that the justice system is flawed and needs reform, but vigilante justice is rife with issues and rather than attempt to fix it said vigilantes just make things work or are severe hypocrites.

Reminder that RGG Studios endorse Kuwana's point of view because he gets away with everything and Yagami will never have another game lol

>he gets away with everything
His entire world view has been functionally dismantled by Yagami's arguments since every time he's confronted by even something as basic as Sawa's death he has no way to justify his actions outside of his own personal sense of justice. He just keeps saying he'll have to live with the consequences even though his entire point is to get revenge for people and scare people from being bullies which in over a decade hasn't worked once. Even at the last moment he can't really defend what he's doing and Kaito has to basically throw in a dumb line about "maybe he's right" just to try to somehow justify his poor decisions.

They also prove his plan amounted to nothing because his life as a handyman has been ruined, he's going to be forced to change how he looks to get away from the cops, no one even knows there's a bully serial killer on the loose to the point it's never mentioned in The Kaito Files let alone 8, and Nanba & co. know more about there being a haunted anatomical skeleton at Seiryo than they do the Bully Hunterâ„¢ that stalked the school a year or two ago. Not to mention his actions led to Japan having a promising politician who would advocate for reforms like he wanted now going to jail for a murder he pushed onto her.

They sort of beat it over your head that nothing he did mattered and actively made Japan worse.
