>>736137028I just saw it. Illumination's not getting an Oscar nomination any time soon, but the movie was decently entertaining with great animation and I had a good time. I am not gonna say the critics are wrong or not entitled to their opinions because I think it's fair to criticize a movie for relying heavily on prior love of the IP rather than a captivating story, even if I think some of the reviews are being overly dramatic. More importantly though, pay attention to the unfolding civil war between Rosalinafags and Star Fox fans that this movie is spawning. That's where the true entertainment will be found. I haven't seen Rosalinafags this mad since Mario Teh Plumber.

>>736147065The first movie should have been about Mario and Luigi having a falling out that they have to work through while on an adventure, and rediscovering what it means to be a good brother through their experiences.The second movie's arc should have primarily been about Bowser realizing he's a terrible father and that he still has time to turn things around. And maybe through Bowser's arc Rosalina second guesses her own decision to send Peach away to be safe instead of staying by her side. Rosalina realizes her own shortcoming after seeing Bowser making an effort to overcome his own. Rosalina sending away Peach and Bowser sending away his son have such obvious parallels but the movie made no effort to connect the two, which was a huge missed opportunity.
The only good Mario film was that jap exclusive one, western just fuck it up first live action too serious then illumination too childish.
