All these new "RTS revival" games look and feel like they were made by people who don't actually play RTS games, or any games at all, since they completely lack the visual and gameplay feeling of a good game. Unironically game devs need to just play more video games so they have a better sense of what to aim for. New games all feel like they just showed a bunch of random guys a single screenshot of starcraft or whatever and told them to make it like that.

Too much attention is given to the carcass of the game, making it too grounded and feeling strangled as a result, like an overworked sketch that never got to be a full picture.
