ITT: Sequels that are better than their predecessor in literally every way.

This game's existence is beyond baffling. Nobody even cared about the first one outside of “that game you rented for a weekend” or “your cousin happened to have it and you messed around for a few hours”

Your bot broke.
>>
My attention span is shot, but I'm still trying to learn stages and get through more of the checklist. Can you get the legendary vehicles in Air Ride? I'm trying to figure out how far along I am with unlocking stars.
>>
Air Riders is pretty close to being an upgrade in every way, but I prefer the original's UI, and miss some of the simplicity of there not being multiple characters and how much that emphasizes vehicle choice

Both are pretty minor things though since Rider's UI is also great and the roster does also add a lot to the game

How is the original better?
>>
>>736188103
It's better in that there's less going on. The sequel has too much shit on screen all the time
>constantly picking up unlimited powerups
>always shooting something
>machines are always uncontrolable from much earlier on, because there's so many more powerups
>portals leading to a bunch of different parts of the stage so your screen is constantly warping/changing
It's like that one webm of the retard getting shown the different colored lights and being entranced by it.
>>
>>736187287
isn't this a remake?
>>
>>736188658
it's not a remake, it's F-Zero KX
>>
>>736188559
the racing part is strictly 100% better though
>>
>>736187287
Metroid Dread compared to SR
>>
>>736187287
i wish this would go on sale for 50% off because apparently it's kinda dead now and i'm not paying $100 for a half-dead online game
>>
>>736187287
Eh I still prefer the layout of The City compared to Skyah. Don't know exactly why it is, but the City just feels more cozy and compact.
>>
>>736187287
How come Air Riders has fun events all the time (like a special unlockable Easter hat) but Nintendo isn’t doing anything cool with Mario Kart World?
>>
>>736190169
because most of Nintendo EPD are cowards and hacks
>>
>>736190065
>$100
Are you Canadian?
>>
>>736190432
nyes
>>
>>736189406
Okay, I'll give you that. Because everyone who played 2002 Air Ride only played City Trial because everything else was shit
>>
>>736190997
Yeah, that's false.
>>
>>736187287
I am still flabbergasted this game exists, it's a bloody miracle.
>>
>>736188658
Nope. Much of the original's content is recreated in it and the title's similar, which might be where that perception comes from.
>>
>>736187287
kirby getting kinda zesty with it
>>
>>736190065
Do you only buy digital? Retailers usually have Nintendo games off 20% or something at a minimum depending on where you look.
>>
>>736195546
even used here is still $85
>>
>>736187287
OG Top Ride was better, it was more compact and focused.

I don't like Top Ride tracks in Air Riders, the walls let higher speed vehicles get to just go faster and not give a shit, and having to do those stages in Road Trip sucked,
>>
>>736190097
I'm still really disappointed they didn't bring the City back, even if it was only restricted to local play or fewer players.
