Old 1-3 games are obsolete in virtually every way and are a torture to play for the newcomers especially. It will just make you hate the whole thing before you even get into it. The only originals worth playing are 4 and 5. Watch out for poser troons who will want to gaslight you into wasting your time on that shit to feel like a "real fan".

It isn't. REmake 2 does the whole "return to form" for the series generally better.What RE7 is, is a very admirable first attempt. It's really important to remember that REmake 2 wasn't a thing yet when RE7 came out. Capcom hadn't done a proper horror RE in over a decade, so any attempt to return to form, no matter how shoddily done, is still appreciated for even being an attempt. When RE7 came out it really was a massive breath of fresh air compared to what had become the norm for Resident Evil at that point. Faggots like >>736189803 will try and mock the "saved Resident Evil" claim but people will always be generally positive about RE7 because it was the first game to come along after RE6 and say "don't worry, even the devs are getting sick of Resident Evil not being horror anymore".
