There is a new Castlevania coming out and there's no hype on /v/ at all. This is the first Castlevania since 2008.
I'm looking forward to it. Sadly there's not a whole lot to talk about right now. We don't know very much.

Castlevania died when they gave up the storylines and gameplay they had going to pander to shitty god of war clones. By the time Warren Ellis was allowed to use it as his LGBTQ "I hate Catholicism" vehicle, it was clear they were never going to go back to those stories or games again. Even this looks like they're trying to push their shitty Netflix stories while giving it a "classicvania" coat of paint to fool the masses. I loved castlevania, but it's dead, killed by Konami along with suikoden, silent hill and Contra. Bloodstained is unironically the only future for castlevania at this point because only IGA cares about it.

If you're really hungry for an open-ended 2D 'vania and have exhausted all of the official games I strongly recommend this. I beat it months ago but its impression on me is still felt. Plus it was made with Konami's blessing and got Robert Belgrade back as Alucard.
