>GOTY just dropped>not a single thread about itLook, I know /v/ is full of posers with shit taste, but can you guys talk about a good game for once? Pretty please?
Far more interesting than overhyped SilksongGrime II has better atmosphere, graphics, protagonist ,writing, sense of humor expanded system, actual inventory and weapons, etcWorld is insane. I sincerely hope game will become more popular. 10 out 10 for its genre. Also very important -More slowed paced combat in some way too you can feel weight of blows Sillksong was too fast, Grime II is perfectly balanced it does not feel you are under constant pressure but its not too easy as well.
The game is insanely good thus far, what the fuckGreat atmosphere, characters and story thus far (really like that it's not a desolate shithole this time but a vibrant and living world), solid gameplay thanks to nioh 2 soul cores, good platforming like in the first one, legitimately fantastic map design. My only issue thus far is that it still uses hollow knight esque map acquisition formula, fucking hate this shit.
>>736196592When's the physical copy? Otherwise it doesn't exist. Also, do you get double jump at the start instead of 95% of the way through the game? Because I was seething at that design choice all game.
>>736196592What is this
>>736196592Do I need to play 1 before 2
>>736199037Hollow Knight but actually good
>>736199128No, they are not connected story wise. Unless something changes in the endgame.
>>736196592>Grime[a] is a 2021 Metroidvania[1][2] video game developed by Israeli independent developer Clover Bitenot today, Mossad
>>736199195I hate hollow knight
>>736196592Sex with that thing
>>736196592Is the stamina system better than the first? i did not quite enjoy having like 5 different stamina recovery items because it was so slow otherwise
>>736196807>immediately tries to ragebait by calling a well-known title shit in comparisonI've never played Silksong, and you've just made sure I'll never play your dogshit game, marketer-kun.
>>736199679Stamina is now infinite. High stamina merely provides a ~50% damage boost and it's far easier to manage thanks to passives and nioh soul cores (and there even passives that increase their damage on low stamina, devs knew people will use them as combo extenders)
Love the creature design
>metroidvania>souls likenot even worth pirating
>>736199869That sounds good, it was my biggest annoyance with the first, having attack windows cut short to conserve stamina because otherwise you were going to get slapped because you ran out after a dash
>talk about a good game for oncei've been talking about mewgenics for two months though

MIO is my metroidvania GOTY and I havent even played it because I know itll be so good that Im scared I wont play any good videogame for a long time if I play it. The patches have been encouraging in the sense that they havent betrayed their design principles and made the game easier or more convenient, and changed any of the shortcuts or the healing system. So they've earned my trust. Honestly I could buy the game now, and now that I think about it, I likely will.As for Grime 2. Before I played the MIO demo and realized that it would surpass Hollow Knight for me. I was actually very excited for Grime 2 infact i was one of the few people who made threads for it before it came out.The problem is...the demo didn't impress me as much. One of the underrated aspects of Grime 1. Was 1: The Map system 2: The platforming was actually pretty cool and interesting. 3: Fast Travel system wasnt designed for convenience.Im pretty sure in the sequel you can just teleport anywhere now, which almost by definition destroys meaningful exploration (almost). So all thats left is the combat and platforming to hold my interest...the combat was fine for what I played. And the platforming didnt get any interesting by the end of the demo.So my worry is that Grime 2 will have the same problem as Grime 1, which is that the platforming to diversify the gameplay (and make it more than generic metroidvanias which often forget that theyre platforms and put the littlest effort into creating interesting platforming) becomes interesting and more frequent fairly late in the game, and largely in optional dlc additions. So now my last hope is Aeterna Lucis. I liked Aeterna Noctis. A lot actually but the game goes on for waaay too long to hold onto how one dimensional (even if fun and challenging) the platforming remains, among other typical metroidvania world design problems, dont even get me started, its not just the fast travel thats the problem in that game.
>>736200650this.
literal Jewish gamefuck off nigga we're not interested
>>736199679Were you someone who used "Slow" weapons? Because they nerfed them into the ground shortly after launch so they were never worth using when I ended up playing it and the game expected you to parry quite a bit. Stamina was never my issue, it was always not having a double jump and taking forever to earn brand new moves.
>>736201223Whats mio?
>>736199210since it's a small country with not much money in gamedev jobs, everything is (((mobile cazino hightech company))) shit.this studio is full of passion built from fresh grads
>>736201223>Aeterna NoctisI will always remember this as the only metroidvania (that I know of) that added Always Online for speedrun ladder bullshit.
HEY SHILLS I ASKED HOW IT IS COMPARED WITH THE FIRST ONE!Kinda liked the first ones first part until it went from metroidvania into this weird platformer thing with barely any combat and the monsters became recolors, never finished it but figured the patches might make it better, played it about around launch.Tell me of the first one gets better too, think i got almost to the end.
Damn I need to go back and finish Grime 1. I liked it but went on vacation and forgot about it.
>>736202167First one gives you a hover ability and a double jump towards the end of the game and has a pretty cool true ending, but if you didn't like it towards the end you probably won't because it's a game that's weak at the start but gets better at the end. NG+ also lets you sequence break (Like >>736198628) because you have double-jump from the start and the game acknowledges you doing it.The only thing patches added was a side area to the start of the game that's just platforming challenges (Picture related) and a few hidden walls that give you armor sets that are mostly bad but alright for cosmetic purposes.
>>736202167my packet doesn't have anything like thatsorry
>>736202381i really liked the art and vibes of the game but the platforming not so much...
I boughted it, seems coolI buyed because of the cool hand dude, haven't played a metroidvania since aria of sorrow
Just beat the first boss, game seems to have an anti-spamming mechanic (force)
>>736202381>because it's a game that's weak at the start but gets better at the end.exactly why i didnt finish the first one and why i was looking forward to the 2nd one, hoping that the second one included the more hardcore interesting platforming earlier
>>736203365wait thats backwards for me i would like more combat and exploration, less platforming. so i really was at the end
I've only seen grime1 in videos and shit but the background in this one seems cooler, less rocks
Israeli devs.no thanks.
>>736196592OP here, sorry wrong pic.
This shit looks fucking atrocious
