So that means all three are playable through this port now?
Which version of 2 works? 1.0 or 2.01?

Actually worked. It's a good thing I never threw out my old scratched disc of Jak1 that my ps2 couldn't read. I'm feeling a little nostalgic, so it'll be nice to play through again.

That's the only one I've played and beat back when it came out.

Tbh, I'm not gonna play something on the PC ever again.

My most vivid childhood memory is picking up Jak 2 at the local Game Crazy, and my parents ordering stuffed crust from Pizza Hut, and getting to eat it in my room while I wandered around that outcast city you start in. I can literally taste the pizza still, if I think about it.

That same Pizza Hut, that's down the road from me, shut down last month... sucks. I'm just pissed that no one else delivers pizza in my shithole podunk town. We literally just have a McDonalds and a Subway left... and local restaurants that charge Chicago tourist prices at this time of year. It's dire out here, fellas.

Why would I do this instead of emulating? It says it's more accurate but is it something I would actually notice if I have no issue with the emulated game?

Jak 2 was one of those high points for me growing up. I remember Mario 64 and OoT as the games that got me more curious about games. Rayman 2 was when I really wanted to own a game and see what was in it. And Jak II was the first game where I hyped it up pre-release, and browsed its website right after we got Broadband internet, just every day, because they uploaded game footage from week to week in the Flash portal.

I played Jak & Daxter but it wasn't an experience that sent me over the moon. Jak 2 absorbed me though. It feels like a game that dives deep, and you just wanted to know what happened next, and IMO its story rewarded you with its reveals and the drama between Jak, the Baron and Errol. It all felt very intriguing, and I kinda hold it over the Uncharteds to be honest. I wish Jak 3 was a little better though. I don't like what they did with Errol or Keira, and the "Dark Makers" feel like they should've been defined a bit better throughout the game.

How is this different from emulating? If I'd wanted to play random-ass boomerslop I had 20 years to do so.

2 and 3 had a shitty framerate and loadings on PS2, hopefully this is fully 30fps/60fps at least.

I've come to prefer 1's simplicity but yeah 2 & 3 as a kid were pretty amazing experiences. The hubs were great then, not as fun as an adult since simply fighting the guards isn't as satisfying as fighting cops in even the older gta's since they send like 3 different things at you at most (three is really improved in that regard with the warring factions in haven city and the weapon upgrades giving you a lot of options to have fun with)

Jak 3 was my favorite and i still have a soft spot for it (particular jak's look in that game with the shorter hair again and the precursor armor and light jak looks amazing, I love it) but it's pretty obviously on shaky legs both game desgin and story wise, like the whole thing with veger supposed to be a light enemy in contrast to the dark enemy of errol is not fleshed out at all (veger as a whole is kinda half-baked), and yeah the dark makers are kinda whatever and their concept shits on metal heads too much

I love the ruined haven city and the faction fights a ton though, shit's so cool between the freedom league, kg death bots, metal heads and dark makers
