You ever notice how the people who get "addicted" to games don't really like games generally speaking? It used to be when I'd hear about a "video game addict" I picture real life Gregor with 20 consoles and 1,000 games completed hammering away on his Sega Saturn chasing that Sokyugurentai 1cc inbetween the dankest most obscure PC-98 titles, that he doesn't need translated because he dedicated his life to mastering the language of true videogames, Japanese. Imagine... Being so gamer you ruined your life... What level is this dude even on. Shit I want to meet him, what wise words would he have? Where should I start with the 3DO library, gamergod?

But its not. Its just some retard who got hooked the hottest dopamine skinnerbox of the week and makes bad decisions with his money/time. I'm not even sure how this happens. Half the time the game isn't even passable its just some mobile time waster.

I love games, more than most things, but even then I've pretty much had my fill after 2 or 3 hours. I wish I was addicted because then I'd at least have a character trait but instead I'm just bad at life and I play games instead of watch TV.

Hot blog cumin@ya.

He's asking why someone would care that much about a shitty video game.
>>
>>736199472
Good. Video games are never meant to be funded with taxpayer money.

I enjoyed Vampire Survivors. It resembles an old arcade game. Were those not "real" games to you? Nice essay, idiot.

>It resembles an old arcade game
You've never played an old arcade game if you think this. An old arcade game doesn't play itself. It's pretty much the opposite of that.

it's a bit like how the plumber walks automatically in donkey kong

Lack of experience I guess. We live on an era where full-blown adults exist that grew up on gachaslop by now. I can see how people like that would carry on with their childhood adiction.

>play 1 game 10,000 hours is bad
>play 10,000 games for 1 hour is good

That's your argument essentially

Games are almost always fun and I consistently get immersed in their story telling and gameplay. I’m playing a game right now, I’m level 90.

Me: Yes
My opponent: WTF?????????
Me smirking shyly: >;3
My opponent wife getting 12 inches of my cock in her cute tight sphincter: “oooooooh my tight bums being shagged by the victor who took the winnings”

You messed up. Your post is clearly describing a gachashitter, but you posted an actual (if simple) game instead.

>Games are now designed to be addicting
Nice of you to notice
>hooks way more casualfags
Because there literally is way more casualfags than "video game addicts".
>>736202903
Tbf, regular games are now being designed the same addicting way even if they don't monetize it. Specially rougelikes.

I'm addicted to Tony Hawk Pro Skater games. am I a true gamer, OP?

Not at all. Neither in terms of art or gameplay.

It's not a game.

It is, whether you choose to acknowledge it or not.

What if you had a functioning brain and could understand the middle ground?

I got this game on my phone a few years ago and I've pretty much only played it when I'm waiting for my plane at the airport, it was an ok enough time waster for when you have absolutely nothing else to do. But then I found that not only was this originally a PC game, but /v/ actually shills this shit for its braindead "gameplay" that's as interactive as the average AAA walk and talk section. Just shows how much you can trust this board on anything regarding the topic of actually playing video games instead of staring at steam charts all day.

>Gregor
does /v/ even use that anymore?
>>
>>736199472
I got addicted for a few levels until I realized that was it, there was no more to the game. I thought it was going to keep adding new shit that radically changed the game. I also like stupid games like pac man with leader boards so.
