I sincerely don't know how to cope with seeing a man I used to consider a genius to reveal himself as a literal retard. While it's true that Miyamoto snark has always been present online, there has always been an aura of eccentricity and ineffability about him - that somehow, past a language barrier and deep into a japanese cubicle behind closed doors, he could make the magic happen if he wanted. Instead, with full creative control, he makes the most shallow and pointless movie of all time, happily declaring it a monumental achievement. The veil has come off; he sees his own work as disposable gutter trash. It's making me reconsider his entire resume of work, and how much of Mario being good is actually due to accident, or the unchecked passion of underpaid interns.

What did you all expect? This is a Super Mario movie. It's not supposed to be some deep movie plot. It's a MARIO MOVIE. Super Mario games have never been about the plot so with a movie we're supposed to suddenly have some deep plot and story or something? You set yourself up for disappointment. It's a children's movie where you get to see characters from Mario games and some cameos with references to the games. That's it. Should they have called it "Super Mario Galaxy movie"? Probably not, but as a Mario movie it was fine.
Because now he says more than just "bYAhoo!"
