What are the odds of getting a patch that alters the official translation to fix its editing errors and mistranslations? Has it been long enough for more people to realize the fan tl is much worse? Trying to read VNs in English is suffering to begin with, but having a crazy fan group astroturf their shit to hell and back makes things even more tiring.

>>736202267>Trying to read VNs in English is sufferingthere is a way out
>>736202374Normalize not using this dogshit. No CoZ shit in my Sci ADV. Enough is enough.
>>736202601>ask for patch>"okay here it is">NOOOO NOT LIKE THATmake your own patch pussy
>>736203104The point is that there needs to be a patch of the official tl to bypass the shitty CoZ version. If there were a different fan group that weren't a bunch of fags then there'd probably be a decent patch by now. And I would do it myself if I could read Japanese well enough to fix the translation errors. And maybe I'll do it in the future. If someone doesn't do it anytime soon, then I'm autistic enough to figure it out in the long run. I want this shit fixed.
>>736203526the fuck is your problem with the fan patch
>>736203526just use their tools and run claude on the script files to translate them or something idk it's decent
>>736203526you don't know a single thing about translation and you'll get 2 minutes into this idea and give upfuck off retard
>>736202601what's the problem with it? t. clueless
>>736203676>>736204706It's a bad translation compared to the official one, which is generally very straightforward. It's ironically the kind of localization /v/ begs for, and it was rejected in favor of a fan tl that's basically no different from your average overlocalized sludge. They have a shallow interpretation of the text that's essentially like your average "media literate" essayist. You can read posts from the people that worked on it and see how they push for their own interpretations as fact instead of looking at it from a broader lens. The whole "manchild" thing and their justification of it is a good example. A change that bad obviously doesn't end there. It's indicative of their mindset for the project, and should invite more scrutiny. The official one definitely has problems of its own, but it's not beyond fixing. It's got editing errors that give the impression of a very rushed localization process. It's like an early draft of an ok translation. It also seems to piss of the fan group if you defend the official one or claim to prefer it. I swear I see them pop up in discussion of it a lot. But that could just be a byproduct of it being a niche thing. But I do have some suspicion of them being extra weird and salty about it that I don't have the solid evidence for at this point without being recklessly conspiratorial.
>>736204526I care about this game and want it fixed. It won't be anytime soon, but it'll get fixed. Whether it's by me or somebody else. If that makes you angry for some reason I'm not sure what to tell you.
>>736205147>>736204706Super important thing I should've added for the uninformed. The official localization is based on a version of the game that was censored to appease CERO. The fan tl's biggest advantage is that it's instead based on the original uncensored Xbox 360 version. You would have to watch a couple sections on YouTube in the middle of your playthrough to fill these gaps if you were to play with the official one (I did this.) This is something that a new patch would have to fix if it were to use the official version as its base.
