the plot is kind of a mess, partially due to poor translation and partly due to just being intentionally confusing

but yeah even just the ui and shit is confusing. like it doesn't really explain explicitly that the character creation screen is just letting you reroll values over and over with the genes being what's more likely to be high/low. but once i got into it, it was pretty fun and you have a lot of options.

main gripes were not being able to toggle crouch/run (fixed easy enough with a little config tweak) and that some of the levels are way too big. mars especially, fuck that place

On my second playthrough I just did that exploit where you talk to your mentor over and over to get levels and brouzouf. Not because the game was too hard, but I wanted to be able to use the bear killer and hunting rifle, idk how you accrue enough shit for that naturally even over the three "required" playthroughs. maybe my starting stats were just too low

yeah i agree. i enjoyed the three route specific levels and new eden, but not much else

on my second/third playthroughs i just killed the looter boss at the beginning of level after new eden and just killed dutch at the beginning of the level before mars. makes both levels only like five minutes long, so definitely helped speed things up. mars is still fucking ass though, having to grind 27 enemies for the stupid skeleton king dude is such a "fuck you"

There is no game like it and probably never will be. It is amazing to think about how the gameplay itself actually ties into the store on a such a deeper level than you would initially think. I can't think of other games that are FPS that have that level of depth.
