>>736203341The most egregious to me are those combined. It's rare to see all six at once, but BP+FOMO and GACHA+FOMO are near ubiquitous today while also being the most damning. The "best" of those is probably Grinding, but it's rare too to see an instance these days where Grinding isn't accompanied by some paid method to skip it or speed it up considerably. "Live" (((Service))) is of course the real culprit to blame at the end of the day since it's a release model promising minimal developer effort and content for maximum player engagement and money

Battlepasses are pretty shitty and goes hand in hand with FOMO, though if you don’t really care about having everything then the effect of both is lessened. Gacha is literally microtransactions but you have a % chance of getting shit you actually want, it’s by far the worst which explains why there are so many.
"If you don't login today you miss these rewards" sounds like FOMO to me. It's funny because Gacha has all these even DLC because now most have skins for characters you already rolled for so you get to roll for the character and then you pay for the skins.
